Playa de las Americas’ beaches are the stars of the show – from Playa de El Bobo in the north via Playa de Troya and Playa del Camisón to Playa de las Vistas in the south – and perfect for sunbathing or enjoying water sports such as surfing, fly boarding, parasailing, banana boating, jet skiing, and fishing. For family fun, hop on the shuttle to Siam Park to try out the amazing water slides, zip down the Mekong Rapids, or let the kids loose in the Lost City. Take a boat tour to get up close to sperm, Eden, and pilot whales and friendly dolphins in the water. Golf fans can hit the fairways of Golf Las Americas’ 18-hole championship course; while shoppers indulge in retail therapy along the Golden Mile and relish tax-free purchases at the classy CC Safari Centre.



No visit to Tenerife is complete without visiting the world’s third highest volcano – Teide – and riding the Teleférico cable car to view the crater and cone from above; Teide National Park is also a haven for stargazing in the night sky. Say hello to the world’s largest collection of parrots and also dolphins, penguins, tigers, and crocodiles at Puerto de la Cruz’s Loro Parque. Step back to colonial times at San Cristobal de la Laguna’s Catedral de Nuestra Señora de los Remedios and La Oratava’s Casas de los Balcones and Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de la Concepción. Culture vultures can head to Santa Cruz de Tenerife’s Museum of Fine Arts and Museum of Nature and Man; while February/March brings Carnival of Santa Cruz de Tenerife with its carnival parades, parties, and concerts.
