Travel to the island’s capital Santa Cruz de Tenerife to visit the Museum of Fine Arts and Museum of Nature and Man and go shopping at the iconic Nuestra Señora de África market. Venture inland to Teide National Park to ride the Teleférico cable car over Mount Teide or embark on a stargazing tour after sunset. Take a stroll around the island’s well-preserved historic quarters including the colonial city of San Cristóbal de la Laguna and the Renaissance mansions in La Orotava’s Old Town. Witness the six mysterious 19th-century pyramids in Güímar. Head to Puerto de la Cruz to go open-air swimming at Lago Martianez, see Jardín Botánico’s 200-year-old fig tree, and meet Loro Parque’s animal life.
