Welcome to Hays Travel Whitley Bay! My name is Darren and I am proud to be the Branch Manager here. I have worked in travel for over 20 years and joined Hays Travel in 2004, when we opened the branch. I have a passion for travel and have not looked back since. My favourite destination has to be Dubai; with something for everyone, the sky’s the limit. A visit to the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa is a must, and taking on the many water slides in Aquaventure is adrenaline pumping.
Let me introduce you to my team. Gemma our Assistant Manager and she has been in the branch since opening its doors. She has a wide and varied knowledge for all kinds of travel including cruising. Her favourite destinations are Greece and Hong Kong. Wendy joined us in December 2018 and has worked in travel for 8 years and has a wealth of experience. She is enjoying her new challenge. Bobbi is our Travel Consultant and has built up a good knowledge of the travel industry. Bethany is our 2nd year apprentice and joined us from school through our Apprenticeship programme and is doing really well with her learning. Julie is our Foreign Exchange Consultant. She is very passionate about currency and can enhance your holiday experience by recommending the best way for you to take your money abroad.

We also offer competitive rates on currency through our in-house foreign exchange counter. We are a friendly team and pride ourselves on excellent customer service. We listen carefully to what our customers want and always go the extra mile to find them exactly what they’re looking for.
Our branch recently organised a coach trip to Scarborough in order to raise money for Street Warriors UK.
This organisations helps the homeless and low income families and gives them a reliable support network when they are unable to access other resources. They provide food, drink, clothing and essential items to help them along their way.
In total, we have managed to raise £527.90! We would like to thank all our customers for joining us for the day and for all their generous donations.
