Tour Itinerary

• Day 1 • UK - Tashkent

  Depart from London Heathrow on your flight to Tashkent.

• Day 2 • Tashkent

  Meet your local guide and transfer to your hotel in Tashkent. After a few hours to settle in, head out on your first tour of Uzbekistan. Your tour starts with a visit to the Museum of Applied Arts, before continuing to the State Museum of History of Uzbekistan. Next, explore the Old City, home to the revered Khast-Imam Square. After exploring these 16th-century treasures, enjoy a change of pace with a visit to the vibrant Chorsu Bazaar and Broadway Street.

• Day 3 • Tashkent - Khiva

  Fly to Urgench where you'll transfer to Khiva, an important trading post on the Silk Road for centuries. Take a walking tour of Ichan Qala, visiting some of the city’s most famous landmarks including the Kalta Minor Minaret and Kunya-Ark Citadel.

• Day 4 • Khiva

  Wander through Khiva’s ancient streets and discover the history of this city on a guided tour. Gaze up at the UNESCO-listed Ichan Kala, explore the 12th century fortress of Kuhna Ark and wonder at the intricately tiled Pahlawan Mahmud Mausoleum.

• Day 5 • Khiva - Bukhara

  Experience the Uzbekistan Desert views as you drive from Khiva to Bukhara. On arrival, enjoy time to explore the local area.

• Day 6 • Bukhara

  Explore some of Bukhara's many architectural wonders on a guided tour of the city. Visit the 5th century Ark citadel, with its palaces, temples barracks and prison. Your tour guide will escort you around the various mosques and mausoleums of the city before leaving you to explore at your own pace.

• Day 7 • Bukhara

  Enjoy a day at leisure, wandering Bukhara andexploring its bazaars, stone pools and ancient streets at your own pace.

• Day 8 • Bukhara - Samarkand

  Depart for Samarkand, stopping at Shakhrisabz to visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site at the centre of the city. Leaving the Timurids 1st city behind, continue on towards the 14th century capital of their empire, Samarkand.

• Day 9 • Samarkand

  Delve deeper into Samarkand with a trip to Registan. Visit the Gur- Emir, the ornately decorated mausoleum of the royal family, and delve into history while viewing the great architectural tombs of the Mughal dynasty of North India. Later, visit the Khovrenko Winery and sample a range of Samarkand wines.

• Day 10 • Samarkand

  Visit the Koni Ghil Paper Mill, renowned for making paper that only sultans, emirs and viziers could afford. Explore the Bibi-Khanym Mosque, go shopping at the local Siyab bazaar, before having the rest of the day at leisure to explore this UNESCO-listed city at your own pace. In the evening, enjoy dinner with a local family who will provide a cooking demonstration of Pilav, a famous rice based dish.

• Day 11 • Samarkand - Tashkent

  Enjoy a morning at leisure, shopping in Siab Bazaar or relaxing with a coffee in the boulevards around Registan Square. Take a train to Tashkent where you'll enjoy a farewell dinner with your group.

• Day 12 • Tashkent - UK

  Transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK.
