Tour Itinerary

• Day 1 • Arrival in Romania

  Arrive in Bucharest and transfer to the medieval town of Brașov. Set beneath the Carpathian Mountains, Brașov will be your base for the next two nights and provides an ideal introduction to Transylvania. The remainder of the day is at leisure to settle in and absorb the atmosphere of one of Romania’s most picturesque historic towns.

• Day 2 • Premjer, Brașov & Bran Castle

  Visit the UNESCO-listed fortified church of Prejmer, one of Transylvania’s most remarkable fortified churches, famed for its defensive walls, wooden stairways and Saxon heritage. Return to Brașov for a guided walking tour through its charming old town, including Piața Sfatului and the Gothic Black Church. Continue to Bran Castle, the legendary 14th-century fortress linked to Bram Stoker’s Dracula, where royal keepsakes, medieval armour and Queen Marie’s former retreat can be explored.

• Day 3 • Viscri & Sighisoara

  Travel through Transylvania’s rolling hills and Saxon villages to Viscri, one of the region’s best-preserved rural communities. Visit the UNESCO-listed Viscri Fortified Church and the King Charles House Museum to discover traditional craftsmanship and village life. Continue to the medieval citadel of Sighișoara, another UNESCO World Heritage Site, for a guided stroll through cobbled lanes, artisan shops and historic landmarks including the 14th-century Clock Tower and the house believed to be Vlad Țepeș’ birthplace.

• Day 4 • Sibiu

  Enjoy a guided walking tour of Sibiu, one of Romania’s most beautiful medieval cities and former European Capital of Culture. Founded by Transylvanian Saxons, the city retains grand squares, steep-roofed houses and impressive defensive towers. Explore the Upper and Lower Town, Great Square, Little Square, Huet Square, Council Tower, Brukenthal Palace and the famous Bridge of Lies. The afternoon is free to continue exploring the city’s historic streets and landmarks independently.

• Day 5 • Corvin Castle & Sibiel village

  Travel to Hunedoara to visit Corvin Castle, one of the largest Gothic castles in Eastern Europe. Explore its pointed towers, dramatic entrance bridge, stone courtyards and historic halls while learning about the legends and characters connected to the fortress. Later, continue to the traditional village of Sibiel, where a guided visit to the Sibiel Icons on Glass Museum reveals the largest collection of glass-painted icons. Discover local customs and village traditions before returning to Sibiu

• Day 6 • Sinaia & Peleş Castle

  Journey along one of Romania’s most scenic routes, passing rolling hills, forests, fortified churches and dramatic views of the Carpathian Mountains. Arrive in Sinaia, a mountain resort long associated with the Romanian royal family. Visit Peleș Castle, widely regarded as one of Romania’s most beautiful buildings. Explore its neo-Renaissance architecture, walnut-panelled reception hall, extensive weapons gallery and richly decorated themed salons before continuing through the mountain valleys to Bucharest.

• Day 7 • Bucharest

  Discover Bucharest on a guided city tour, exploring a capital where Brâncovenesc churches, Belle Époque façades, neo-classical boulevards and communist-era architecture stand side by side. Visit the Palace of Parliament, the largest building in Europe, renowned for its marble staircases, chandeliers and ceremonial halls. Continue to the open-air Village Museum to see traditional Romanian houses, churches and workshops. Later, enjoy free time before a guided walking tour through the cobbled streets of Bucharest’s atmospheric old town.

• Day 8 • Return home

  Bid farewell to Romania and transfer to Bucharest Airport for your flight home. After a week exploring Transylvania’s UNESCO-listed towns, fortified churches, medieval citadels, royal palaces, Gothic castles and the contrasting architecture of Bucharest, your tour concludes with your departure from the Romanian capital.
