Tour Itinerary

• Days 1-2 • UK - Chicago

  Begin your travels in the bustling city of Chicago, perusing the Magnificent Mile and tasting local delicacies such as the famous Chicago Hot Dog. Don’t forget to take your photo with the iconic Route 66 sign before setting off on your journey! Optional: Chicago River cruise

• Day 3 • Chicago - Springfield, Illinois

  Pick up your hire car and hit the road as you travel along the iconic Route 66. Journey along the Mother Road, passing through Joliet, the home of the official Route 66 Welcome Centre, and Pontiac where you’ll explore the Route 66 Hall of Fame with a vast collection of classic cars and the best of all things Americana.

• Day 4 • Springfield - St. Louis

  Immerse yourself in the history of the hometown of Abraham Lincoln, visiting the Presidential Library and Museum. Continue to St. Louis, the largest city along Route 66, and home to the Gateway Arch.

• Day 5 • St. Louis - Springfield

  Reach the birthplace of Route 66 in Springfield, Missouri. Venture through the Ozark mountainous region, marvelling at the stunning colours and formations of the Meramec Caverns in Stanton.

• Day 6 • Springfield - Oklahoma City

  Make your way to Oklahoma, with the most driveable miles than any other state on this route. Travel through long stretches of rural plains, featuring the iconic Blue Whale in Catoosa, before leading you to the state capital.

• Day 7 • Oklahoma City - Amarillo

  Continue to Amarillo, stopping at Lucille’s Historic Gas Station and the National Route 66 Museum.

• Day 8 • Amarillo - Albuquerque

  Visit the unique Cadillac Ranch, then continue to Adrian, where you’ll reach the official midway point of Route 66. Arrive in Albuquerque where you’ll get a taste of New Mexico’s Spanish colonial past.

• Day 9 • Albuquerque - Holbrook

  Hit another landmark site today as you visit the Petrified Forest National Park, the only park in the National Park System containing a section of Route 66.

• Days 10-11 • Holbrook - Williams

  Continue to Williams and its historic buildings full of Route 66 memorabilia, before visiting the incredible Grand Canyon National Park, a natural wonder that must be seen to be believed.

• Days 12-13 • Williams - Las Vegas

  Setting off from Willams, travel further on your route until you reach the iconic bright lights and neon signs of Las Vegas, where you’ll enjoy a two night stay exploring the famous Strip.

• Days 14-15 • Las Vegas - Santa Monica

  Celebrate as you finally reach the end of Route 66 and relax for two nights in the sunny city of Santa Monica.

• Day 16 • Los Angeles - UK

  Return your car and catch your flight home to the UK.
