About this tour
Your journey begins in Baveno, a charming town on the shores of Lake Maggiore. One of Italy’s most beautiful lakes, Lake Maggiore offers breathtaking views, rolling hills and dramatic mountain scenery. Take time to explore the landscape and enjoy a relaxing cruise to the Borromean Islands.
Visit Isola Bella for a guided tour of its magnificent Baroque palazzo and terraced gardens before continuing to Isola dei Pescatori, a traditional fishing village. Wander through its narrow lanes and discover inviting restaurants and cafés overlooking the lake.
The next morning brings a completely different view of Lake Maggiore as you take a private boat ride to Cannobio, the last town on the shore before the Swiss border. Stroll along the gentle cobbled streets and escape into a timeless world of grand mansions, boutiques and bars before taking time to visit the magnificent Villa Taranto Gardens.
Lined with gorgeous pastel-painted villas, grand hotels and delightful parks, explore Northern Italy’s most famous lake, Lake Como. The next morning, witness some truly spectacular mountain vistas as you ascend into the High Alps on a scenic journey through Simplon Pass to visit Zermatt.
