About this tour
Your journey begins in vibrant Fukuoka before travelling to Nagasaki and Hiroshima, where visits to the Atomic Bomb Museum and Peace Memorial Park offer powerful insights into Japan’s resilience and spirit. Board a ferry across the Seto Inland Sea to the holy island of Miyajima and marvel at the iconic floating torii gate before heading back to Hiroshima.
Continue to Nara and meet the city’s bowing deer and stand before the bronze Buddha at Toda, before reaching Japan’s ancient imperial capital, Kyoto. Immerse yourself in bamboo forests, golden temples, tea ceremonies and the atmospheric geisha district of Gion, revealing the elegance of old Japan. Venture further, visiting the rural villages of Shirakawa-go and Takayama, taking the opportunity to enjoy authentic cultural experiences including sake tasting, calligraphy and sushi making. Afterwards, journey through the spectacular Japanese Alps and visit the historic Matsumoto Castle before trying to catch a glimpse of the snow monkeys bathing in the hot springs.
Travel to the Fuji region and enjoy the calm waters of the local lakes, formed by past volcanic eruptions, before visiting the 5th Station offering breathtaking views above the clouds. Later, journey to Tokyo, Japan’s dazzling capital. Stroll through Hamarikyu Gardens, browse the stalls on Nakamise street, and pass by the world-famous Shibuya crossing before a dinner cruise on Tokyo Bay. Finally, continue north to the coastlines of Sendai, Hakodate and Sapporo, where Japan’s rich indigenous Ainu culture provides a fascinating finale to this unforgettable adventure.
