India – From the Himalayas to the Ganges

Tour Itinerary

• Days 1-2: UK - Delhi

  Fly overnight to Delhi. Meet your tour manager and settle into your first hotel. This evening, enjoy a welcome dinner with your fellow travellers.

• Day 3: Delhi

  Rise early this morning and set off a guided tour of Delhi’s historic landmarks, visiting Jama Masjid Mosque, one of the largest in India, and Raj Ghat, Gandhi’s cremation site. In the afternoon, visit the UNESCO-listed Qutub Minar.

• Day 4: Delhi - Shimla

  Leave Delhi behind this morning and step aboard the iconic ‘Toy Train’, climbing through stunning mountain scenery to Shimla.

• Day 5: Shimla

  After breakfast, enjoy a tour of Shimla. Spend time at Scandal Point, a traditional meeting place for locals and take the chance to browse the area’s local markets at your leisure.

• Day 6: Shimla - Jaipur

  Drive to bustling Chandigarh for an internal flight to Jaipur.

• Day 7: Jaipur

  Climb the steep terrain to the towering Amber Fort by Jeep, which watches over the city from its majestic hilltop position. Today’s exploration of Jaipur then continues with a sightseeing tour.

• Days 8-9: Ranthambore

  Arrive in Ranthambore and check into your jungle lodge before embarking on guided open-air safaris over the next two days. With an expert naturalist, explore the park’s landscapes in search of Royal Bengal tigers, hyenas, jackals and leopards

• Day 10: Ranthambore - Agra

  You’re time in the jungle will come to an end after breakfast as you take a scenic drive to Agra, India’s iconic ‘City of Love’

• Day 11: Agra

  Visit the Taj Mahal, the famed monument of eternal love before heading to Agra Fort, a grand sandstone fortress. Learn about the building’s regal history on a guided tour before spending the afternoon at your leisure

• Day 12: Agra - Varanasi

  Today, travel by the Vande Bharat Express to Varanasi, the spiritual capital of India, nestled on the banks of the sacred Ganges River

• Day 13: Varanasi

  Enjoy an included Ganges cruise before heading on a tour of Varanasi.

• Day 14: Sarnath

  Sarnath will be the backdrop for this morning’s exploration as you head to the ghats to experience the Aarti ceremony.

• Day 15: Delhi

  Board a short internal flight back to Delhi. Upon arrival, you’ll be driven to your final hotel in the suburb of Dwarka.

• Day 16: Delhi - UK

  Following breakfast, travel to Delhi airport in the morning for your flight back to the UK.
