About this tour

From the historic cities of the Golden Triangle and Ranthambore's tiger-filled jungles to Shimla and the Himalayan foothills, Kerala's serene backwaters, and the vibrant energy of Mumbai, this journey captures India in a nutshell.

Delhi is the starting point of this introduction to India, where you’ll discover the old city, covering sites like Jama Masjid Mosque, Raj Ghat, and Humayun's Tomb, followed by a rickshaw ride through Chandni Chowk. After viewing the Red Fort, India Gate, and government buildings, you’ll journey by rail to Shimla and can enjoy leisurely walks through the colonial-era town. A scenic ‘toy train’ ride and further exploration of Shimla is followed by a flight to Jaipur where we visit the Amber Fort, City Palace, and other landmarks, along with an evening to explore local markets.

The tour continues into India’s diverse landscapes with a drive to Ranthambhore for morning and afternoon safaris in search of Bengal tigers. Next, you’ll travel to Agra to experience the magnificent monument of love, the Taj Mahal at sunrise and Agra Fort. From there, fly south to Kerala, where you’ll explore historic locations, witness a Kathakali dance performance, and unwind on a traditional houseboat cruise through the serene backwaters.

Conclude with time to relax further on the sandy shores of Marari in the comfort of a beachfront resort. Lastly, fly to Mumbai, where you’ll witness the cultural and historical attractions, including the Gateway of India and open-air laundry at Dhobi Ghat, before returning to the UK.
