About this tour
Begin your adventure in Cairo, where you’ll explore the capital’s famous landmarks from the world-renowned pyramids to the Great Sphinx of Giza. Delve deeper into the history of this ancient world with a guided tour of the Grand Egyptian Museum with an expert Egyptologist.
Continuing to the Coptic Cairo district, visit the Virgin Mary’s Coptic Orthodox Church and St. Sergius’ Church. Board a coach into Cairo’s historic centre where you’ll have some time to explore the famed Khan el Khalili Bazaar and the nearby Al Mu’izz Street.
Set off this morning for a short internal flight to historic Luxor, where you’ll witness the Karnak temple and Luxor Temple. After a busy day of exploration, board the MS Blue Shadow IV, a luxury river cruiser, where you’ll stay for the next seven days.
Head on a tour of Egypt’s best-preserved pharaonic monuments in the famous Valley of Kings, which houses the tomb of Tutankhamun and the temple of Hatshepsut, one of the country’s most celebrated queens. Visit the intricately carved halls of the Temple of Horus in Edfu before reboarding your ship and continuing to Kom Ombo’s magnificent riverside temple.
On arrival in Aswan, head to the city’s extraordinary High Dam, then cross the Nile to Philae’s Temple of Isis and board a traditional felucca to sail around Kitchener Island. Explore Aswan at your own pace before enjoying a final evening on the Nile ahead of the return leg of your river cruise, travelling back north to Luxor for your flight home.
