Our branch showed support for the Alzheimer’s Society by joining their Cupcake Day fundraising efforts.
Dementia describes a set of symptoms that can affect your memory, thinking and speech. Currently there are 850,000 people living with dementia in the UK, with over 42,000 under 65. There is no cure for dementia at this moment and organisations such as the Alzheimer’s Society offer invaluable support to anyone who is affected.
Many of our loyal customers have relatives who are affected by dementia and we felt quite strongly about helping this cause. On the day we brought in some of our most delicious homemade cakes and by selling them we managed to raise £152.88.
In addition, we recently raised over £100 for The Helen Foundation, a local charity that supports projects for children in the local community. This was match-funded by the Hays Foundation, making a total donation of over £200.00
