Lara Beach is also the starting point from which to experience some of Turkey’s famous sights and attractions. Journey back to the Roman era at Ephesus’ Library of Celsus and Temple of Hadrian and explore the iconic Hagia Sophia Mosque, Topkapi Palace, and Blue Mosque in Turkey’s largest city, Istanbul. Go hiking or white-water rafting in Koprulu Canyon National Park or relish a jeep safari to the Taurus Mountains.  Sail the Dalyan River past preserved tombs and endangered loggerhead turtles or embark on a sightseeing cruise on the Bosporus lined with Ottoman palaces and ancient fortresses. Look out for local handicrafts and souvenirs at Manavgat Bazaar or Istanbul’s Grand Bazaar.

Many menus in Lara Beach showcase traditional fare like Kulakli, Iskembe Corbasi, and Guluklu Soups; Piyaz, Doner Kebabs, Kofte, Dolma, Karniyarik, Borek, Pide, Meze, Lahmacun, and Gozleme; with Arap Kadayif, Baklava, or Asure for dessert. A bottle or two of Efes Pilsner or local wine are the perfect accompaniment to your meal; followed by a glass of Raki, a pot of Caydanlik tea, or a cup of Turk Kahvesi coffee. Most of the upmarket hotels boast a wide choice of on-site eateries where your can tuck into dishes from around the world. There are beach clubs along the beachfront too serving up a vibrant food, drinks, and nightlife scene.
