Itinerary

• Three Nights – Davvi Arctic Star – Karesuando - Lapland

  Your holiday begins with a direct morning charter flight to Enontekio Airport. From there, you’ll make the hour’s transfer by motorcoach to a remote village of Karesuando, straddling Swedish and Finnish Lapland, and perfectly located on the Official Northern Lights Route. You’ll also be provided with thermal suits and boots for the duration of your stay, so you’re well equipped for Lapland’s Arctic temperatures.

• Hotel – Davvi Arctic Star

  This 27-room traditional friendly hotel in Karesuando offers superb views over both the majestic Muonio River and the Kaarevaara Fell. Here, you’re well placed to explore Karesuando on foot, dropping in at Sweden’s most northerly church, paying a visit to the local museum, and regularly crossing the Finnish-Swedish border. The Lagom and Fika rooms are unpretentious and cosy and your stay will be on a full-board basis. Meals are taken at the hotel's on-site restaurant and drinks can be purchased from the adjacent bar. NB: the Davvi Arctic Star is a 'cashless' hotel and only accepts payments by debit or credit card.

• Included Activities

  Northern Lights Snowmobile Safari - Set off into the crisp Lapland night and drive down frozen rivers and across the Arctic tundra to a vantage point in the wilderness. Two adults share a snowmobile; a driving licence is required. Northern Lights Forest Walk - On this guided walk you’ll ascend a fell, through a small forest, to find a vantage point which is ideal for seeing the Northern Lights - should they bless your holiday with their appearance. Hot drink included. Call of the Wild Husky Safari - No Lapland holiday would be complete without mushing your own team of huskies through snow-capped forests and over frozen lakes – a must do! Two adults share a sled and dog team. Reindeer Camp - Learn about Lapland’s most famous residents from the experts! This excursion includes a talk on the reindeer and their importance in Lapland culture, and is followed by a reindeer-pulled sleigh ride.

• Day-to-Day Itinerary

  A full itinerary of what happens on each day is given on arrival in Lapland. Itineraries are not circulated beforehand since there are often many changes. Activities and excursions are planned around expected weather conditions and Northern Lights predictions to give the best chance of seeing the Aurora or minimising disruption caused by weather. The activities and excursions operate in True Lapland and are susceptible to adverse weather conditions such as snow drifts and storms; so it may be necessary to reschedule some arrangements at short notice.
