A group of Norwich travel agents have been supporting a biker organisation whose goal is to grant wishes to young people in the East of England going through a tough time.

The Wish Makers Motorcycle Association is a fundraising organisation in Norfolk, made up of a group of bikers who gift memorable experiences to young people going through a challenging time, or to those who have been a local hero in some way.

Whether it be sickness, the loss of a parent or sibling, bullying, or having done something incredible in their local community, the Wish Makers work hard to plan an incredible surprise or amazing treat for these young people.

And what better treat than a trip to Disneyland Paris.

The team from Hays Travel Norwich City have been helping to plan and organise Disney holidays for families the Wish Makers are working with.

Two of the team have even joined the Wish Makers in their own time as they arrive at families’ doors on motorbikes to surprise them with their trips.

They then invite the families into the branch to collect their tickets and currency.

For the most recent ticket collection, the team stood outside the shop giving out easter eggs donated by the Wish Makers to families walking past.

The Wish Makers hold a black-tie event every year to raise the money they need to help families and this year some of the Hays Travel Norwich City team will be attending.

The plan is to grow and fundraise enough to be able to send more families to Disneyland each year.

Hays Travel Norwich City branch manager, Jomane Jackson, said: “It is so lovely to be a part of this and to be involved helping organise the trips. 

“As a team we feel this is such a special charity to support and be involved with. We are excited to see our relationship grow and to make these holidays and dreams come true for more and more young people!”

The Wish Makers vice president, Alex Gibb – or as he is known on the road, Twinkle – said: "Having the support of Hays Travel Norwich City has been phenomenal. Their personal touch and dedication to making our giveaways special for the families we support has been invaluable.

“We cannot wait to continue working alongside each other to make our annual giveaway of Disney Holidays to deserving families a really magical experience for everyone involved."

Hays Travel is the UK’s largest independent travel agent, with branches across the UK – all committed to supporting their customers and the local communities they serve.

Each Hays Travel branch is provided with a £500 budget to use for fundraising and charity work in their local area; £200 of this is to be used to fundraise for charities which support young people’s mental health, and the other £300 can be used for charities chosen by the branch.

In the last year, Hays Travel’s Local Community Partnership initiative across its retail network has donated almost £170,000 to local charities.
