The Seabourn Ovation Experience with Polly Bendall

14-09-26

One of our Cruise Consultants - Polly Bendall - recently had the pleasure of experiencing a five-night cruise on Seabourn Ovation as the ship set sail from the French port of Rouen towards Dover – dropping anchor enroute in Plymouth, Portland, and Portsmouth.

As this was Polly’s first time on a small ultra-luxury cruise; we couldn’t wait to catch up with her to find out what she thought of her Seabourn adventure and to tell us all about Seabourn Ovation and her “Seabourn Moments”!

Introduction to Seabourn Ovation

Seabourn Ovation is a small, ultra-luxury ship with a private yacht-like atmosphere and around 600 guests. This means she's able to access smaller, more intimate ports that larger ships simply can’t reach. And the best part? Everything is included - from world-class dining to premium wine, champagne, and spirits - and even Caviar! You genuinely don’t need to spend a penny onboard, unless you want to.

What were your first thoughts when you stepped on board?

Well, where do I start! Without a doubt this is quiet luxury at its finest. Nothing feels over the top or showy, but you notice it everywhere - in the impeccable service, outstanding food, and thoughtfully curated entertainment. Seabourn Ovation is elegant and beautiful, yet still feels relaxed and welcoming.

What will you remember most about your cruise?

One of the standout elements for me aboard Seabourn Ovation was definitely the crew. They really take the time to get to know your preferences and remember the little details - creating those special Seabourn Moments that make the whole experience so personal to each and every guest.

Did you have a Seabourn Moment to tell us about?

One of my own Seabourn Moments has to be sitting in the Jacuzzi right at the front and sailing down the River Seine whilst drinking a fizzy glass of Champagne - all whilst onboard a luxury cruise ship - something only possible because of the ship’s smaller size. Truly a unforgettable moment!

Where did the ship visit?

After time exploring Rouen; we enjoyed scenic cruising along the Seine River. Plymouth's iconic Plymouth Hoe beckoned; with Portland's red-and-white striped Portland Bill Lighthouse up next. Portsmouth led to Lord Nelson’s HMS Victory flagship; before the famous White Cliffs of Dover came into view.

Would you recommend a Seabourn luxury cruise to your customers?

Definitely! This experience gave me valuable first-hand insight into what makes Seabourn so special. From the beautifully curated itineraries to the intimate luxury atmosphere and exceptional onboard experience. I can’t wait to do it all over again…one day!
