I have worked in travel for over 25 years, joining hays travel 12 years ago as branch manager here at Jarrow. My favourite holiday destination has got to be America, namely Florida and New York. I also have a passion for cruise holidays and have had many experiences cruising over the years.
Michelle our branch assistant manager has worked with us since the opening of the branch in 2003; Michelle has a keen interest in long haul destinations and loves tailor made itineraries. Chloe has worked for Hays for 8 years she has a great passion for Disneyland Florida and is on hand to offer her expertise. We also have Allison who has been with hays travel for over 20 years. Her favourite holiday destination is mainland Spain. We also have Lisa who loves cruise holidays and also has a great knowledge of all destinations.
Michelle works to offer customers the best rates on foreign exchange and can give expert advice any relating to foreign currency. Alex is has finished her apprenticeship and is now a travel consultant.
We pride ourselves on having many regular customers which have booked here since the branch opened 12 years ago. We strive to welcome all new customers gaining us a client for life! Customer service is very important to us at Jarrow Hays Travel; we always greet people with a smile, and are a friendly close knit team with a great knowledge of various destinations from beach holidays to city breaks, faraway holidays to cruises, and everything else in between! Hays travel is the largest independent travel agency, which means the advice we offer is impartial. We also offer competitive rates on foreign currency when it’s time to buy your holiday money.
In a joint effort six of the Hays Travel branches from around the North East got involved in the Trekking for Charlie event, in support of the Charlie Cookson Foundation.
Charlie’s story is an incredible example of courage and while it has a tragic ending, an incredible support network was born. The Charlie Cookson Foundation (CCF) provides financial support to parents of seriously ill children with life limiting conditions that require 24 hour nursing care or specialist nursing facilities. Understanding how difficult life can become, the foundation can help, up to a period of three months, with anything from payments or mortgage, rent, bills to basic daily goods.
To raise money and awareness of this great cause, members of the South Shields, Jarrow, Middlesbrough, Seaham, Jesmond & Metrocentre branches walked 14 miles from Sunderland’s Stadium of Light to St. James Park in Newcastle. This was a challenging activity however, knowing it was for a good cause made it a pleasure to take part in it.
Engagement with customers was great and the team had a lot of support from them, their families and friends. A massive well done to everyone involved!
