Costa De La Luz Holidays

The beach resort of Costa de la Luz is considered to be one of Spain's best kept secrets, and that’s why holidays here are so special. Costa de la Luz (which translates as 'Coast of Light') is a far cry from the more well-known, and highly-developed Costas; here couples, families and friends can enjoy unspoilt natural Spanish landscapes, rugged hillsides and breathtaking, yet quieter beaches with a view over the Atlantic Ocean. Welcome to your new favourite holiday destination!

If you are a lover of wildlife and the 'great outdoors', then a holiday to Costa de la Luz is certainly for you. This spectacular strip of Spain and its gorgeous coastline are ready to be discovered and you are sure to find some stunning sights along the way. The region is home to the likes of Cadiz, a vibrant harbour city with rich history and traditional Spanish culture, and Tarifa, one of the most popular destinations for windsurfing and kitesurfing in the world.

Or you can take a trip to the Doñana National Park, which is a playground for cyclists and hikers and the perfect place to soak in the preserved natural landscapes or admire endangered species such as the Spanish imperial eagle. Then of course there are the long, golden beaches where you can lay back and soak up the sunshine or take a refreshing dip into the crystal-clear Atlantic Ocean to cool off.

Whilst Costa de la Luz offers a slower pace than many other popular Spanish resorts, you'll still find a great nightlife in Tarifa and Conil de la Frontera in particular. And this area of Spain is a real delight for food lovers too, as you'll find a plethora of authentic restaurants and tapas bars - and of course, an endless supply of sangria!

Holidays to Costa de la Luz also mean you are perfectly located for day trips to the neighbouring city of Seville, at just an hour’s drive away. As well as cycling, hiking and horse riding in the areas stunning national parks and mountains, birdwatching is a popular pastime. And holidaymakers looking for a different kind of birdy flock to the regions excellent golf courses. Culture vultures cant get enough of Cadiz, whilst beach lovers are drawn to the sandy shores. With so much wide open space and untouched, traditional villages, theres plenty to discover in the Costa De La Luz. Head further afield to Jerez and see real Spain, complete with horse displays and worldfamous sherry, or take a day trip to Seville and see the magnificent architecture. Whether youre visiting this part of Andalucia to relax or explore, youre bound to be satisfied. Unlike the other Spanish Costas, you wont find many Britishstyle pubs here. Youre far more likely to find yourself relaxing at a pavement cafe, or enjoying tapas under the stars. Many hotels on the Costa De La Luz lay on their own evening entertainment, but youll find a typically vibrant, Spanish atmosphere elsewhere, especially in Cadiz. Cadiz does have a number of late night clubs, but nothing on the scale of the more developed holiday resorts in other parts of Spain. In Isla Canela, the smart marina is lined with restaurants and low key, night time venues.

Many hotels in the Costa De La Luz have their own onsite restaurants, offering up local and international food. In the main beach resorts, youll find a good mix of eateries, many with outdoor terraces. For a true taste of Spain, cosy up in one of Cadiz's tapas bars for some tapas, or enjoy freshly caught fish in one of the areas rural villages.
