A Taste of Japan Itinerary

• Day 1: UK - Tokyo

  Get ready to start your adventure! Head to the airport at the indicated time to board your flight* to Japan. Overnight on board. *If either your outbound or inbound flights depart in the early hours (before 4:00 a.m.) you must arrive at the airport the night before the indicated departure day.

• Day 2: Tokyo

  Arrival at Tokyo Airport and transfer on your own* to the hotel. You have the rest of the day free to relax or start exploring at your own pace. Overnight stay in Tokyo.

• Day 3: Tokyo

  This morning is free for you to explore Tokyo at your own pace. You might visit the peaceful Meiji Shrine near Harajuku or stroll Omotesando’s stylish streets for boutique shopping and architecture. Later, join a guided tour of Shibuya, starting at Shibuya Station with Taro Okamoto’s striking mural, “The Myth of Tomorrow.” Experience the buzz of Shibuya Crossing, wander Nonbei Yokocho for a glimpse of post-war Tokyo, and relax in Miyashita Park. Discover the vibrant Center Gai and nightlife in Maruyama-cho before ending at the iconic Hachiko Statue. Overnight in Tokyo.

• Day 4: Tokyo

  Enjoy a full day to explore Tokyo at your own pace, or opt for an unforgettable Mount Fuji & Lake Kawaguchi tour.* This scenic day trip from Shinjuku includes stops at Lake Kawaguchiko, Oishi Park, Arakurayama Sengen Shrine, and Gotemba Premium Outlets. Take in stunning views of Mt. Fuji, enjoy smooth travel between sites, and shop for souvenirs. Overnight in Tokyo.

• Day 5: Tokyo - Kyoto

  Board the bullet train (Shinkansen) to Kyoto*, Japan’s ancient capital. The trip takes only around 2 hours and 15 minutes, and the train can reach speeds of 300 km/h! Enjoy the rest of the day exploring Kyoto at your own pace. Wander through serene streets, visit hidden temples, or unwind at a local onsen. Kyoto was Japan’s capital for over a thousand years and is one of the best-preserved cities in the country. It’s a vibrant blend of modern life and traditional culture, surrounded by the mountains of Western Honshu and that offers a wide variety of restaurants, and is easy to navigate. Overnight stay in Kyoto. *The transfer between the hotel and the train station is not included.

• Day 6: Kyoto

  Enjoy the morning exploring Kyoto at your own pace. Visit the impressive Nijo Castle or, for a more interactive experience, explore the Samurai & Ninja Museum to learn about Japan’s legendary warriors. In the evening, take part in a guided walking tour of Gion, Kyoto’s most iconic geisha district. This is the time when geishas—known locally as geiko—and maiko (apprentices) begin to appear as they head to evening appointments, offering a rare and authentic glimpse into this refined world of traditional arts and entertainment. Wander through atmospheric alleyways lined with teahouses and wooden machiya townhouses, as your expert guide shares stories and insights into Kyoto’s unique cultural heritage. • Day 7: Kyoto

• Day 8: Kyoto - Osaka

  Take a short Shinkansen ride* to Osaka, the final stop on your journey. Spend the day exploring this vibrant city at your own pace. Discover its two main districts—Kita for shopping and Minami for nightlife. Top sights include Osaka Castle, the renowned Aquarium, and the neon-lit streets of Dōtonbori, famous for street food and entertainment. Overnight in Osaka. *Hotel-to-station transfer not included.

• Day 9: Osaka to UK

  It’s time to say goodbye to Japan, taking with you unforgettable memories. For a smooth departure, you may choose to book an optional private airport transfer, or make your own way to the airport. Arrive in your home city and end this extraordinary journey.
