Day 1: UK - Budapest

Arrive in Budapest where you will transfer to your ship. Spend the evening enjoying the scenery of the charismatic capital of Hungary.

Day 2: Budapest

Today, explore Budapest on a guided tour, taking in the superb Roman ruins and exquisite Art Nouveau architecture, providing the perfect backdrop for the acclaimed Christmas markets. Soak up the traditional atmosphere and enjoy the delicious smells of spicy gingerbread and peppery goulash, perhaps treating yourself to a mulled wine to keep the winter chill at bay. Back on board, this afternoon you will then cruise along the Danube Bend, where the river winds through a narrow twisting valley, flanked by high mountains and snow-covered hillsides. Sit back, relax and enjoy the fairytale landscape.

Day 3: Bratislava

Today you will arrive in Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia. Discover the city’s interesting history on a guided tour, with time to visit the Christmas markets and enjoy local delicacies like a poppy seed strudel. Today there is an optional excursion to Slovensky Grob, a village in the foothills of the Carpathian Mountains, famed for its geese rearing. Visit a typical Slovak chalet to learn how families prepare the typical goose snacks, taste delicious foie gras accompanied by a selection of local wines.

Day 4: Vienna

Today you will wake up in Vienna, with its elegant imperial facades. Enjoy the highlights of Vienna on a guided tour, seeing the impressive St Stephen’s Cathedral, the Hofburg Complex, the Vienna Boys’ Choir and the world-famous Spanish Riding School. Then, spend an afternoon visiting some of the Yuletide markets. Few places evoke the spirit of Christmas like Vienna, where the sound of classical carols and the smell of roasted chestnuts is truly reminiscent of Christmas from a bygone age. Tonight, you can enjoy a classical quarter recital on board.

Day 5: Budapest

Relax during your final morning of sailing, admiring the winter wonderland scenery effortlessly gliding by. This afternoon you will reach Budapest for a chance to explore the local Christmas markets, browse the stalls and soak up the friendly festive ambience.

Day 6: Budapest - UK

Today you will depart the ship and fly back to the UK.
