Since childhood, I’ve been fascinated by elephants, so choosing a South African safari for our honeymoon felt natural. We stayed at Sebatana Private Reserve, which I highly recommend for first-time safari travellers. It offers a smooth, guided experience while still capturing that raw, authentic sense of adventure. From Sebatana, we ventured into Welgevonden, Pilanesberg, and Kaingo national parks. Each game drive brought something new and breathtaking - from herds of elephants to elegant giraffes and elusive rhinos. But the most unforgettable moment came when a leopard silently emerged from the bush, stopping just beside our jeep. It was a once-in-a-lifetime encounter that left us speechless and completely in awe of nature’s beauty and unpredictability.

South Africa is a land of vibrant contrasts and unforgettable beauty. What made the experience truly special was the warmth, joy, and friendliness of the people we met along the way. Their welcoming nature added a personal touch to every moment. Out on safari, the atmosphere was magical a deep, peaceful stillness broken only by the rustle of leaves, distant bird calls, or the occasional roar echoing through the bush. The landscapes were breathtaking, with golden sunsets stretching across the horizon and wildlife moving gracefully through their natural habitat. It was a journey filled with awe and reflection, where nature’s raw beauty and the spirit of the people combined to create memories that will stay with us forever.

I was a little unsure about trying dishes like kudu, impala, and wildebeest, but every meal turned out to be a highlight of the trip. The flavours were rich, the ingredients fresh, and the presentation always beautiful. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared, blending traditional South African elements with gourmet flair. The chefs clearly took pride in their craft, and it showed in every bite. Even the more adventurous meats were tender and delicious, paired with vibrant vegetables and bold sauces. Dining became an experience in itself - not just about food, but about culture, storytelling, and connection. By the end of our stay, I looked forward to every meal, eager to discover what creative dish would be served next.
