HM The King and Dame Irene Hays attend 40th Anniversary of the Handback of Uluṟu-Kata Tjuṯa

His Majesty The King commemorated the 40th Anniversary of the Handback of Uluṟu-Kata Tjuṯa to its Traditional Owners during an event at the Australian High Commission, London, on Thursday 16 October.

King Charles marked the major Aboriginal land rights milestone alongside Uluru-Kata Tjuta's traditional owners and other guests and dignitaries.

Dame Irene Hays attended the event as a guest of Tourism Australia, which Hays Travel has a long-standing partnership with.

Dame Irene Hays, owner and chair of Hays Travel, said: “It was an honour to attend this moving event as a guest of our Tourism Australia partners.

"Being there to celebrate the return of the deeds to Uluṟu-Kata Tjuṯa by the Commonwealth of Australia was an important reminder of the need to respect distinct cultures and the strength to be gained through unity.”
