5 Things NOT to Miss at Universal Orlando’s Epic Universe

11/09/2025

Planning a holiday to Universal Orlando? Or perhaps you're wondering whether it's time to return to Florida on another action-packed USA holiday now that Epic Universe is here? Well, we’ve got all the answers, and some insider tips from our very own theme park pro who’s had a sneak peek inside the brand-new park!

Meet Mel!

Mel, our brilliant North Divisional Sales Manager, recently jetted off with colleagues on a behind-the-scenes look at Universal’s biggest and boldest park yet: EPIC UNIVERSE. And trust us, it certainly lives up to its name.

From AR-powered rides and high-speed coasters to immersive lands straight out of your wildest gaming dreams, Epic Universe is set to shake up Orlando’s theme park scene like never before. So, what should be on your must-do list?

Here are Mel’s Top 5 Things NOT to Miss at Epic Universe, plus a few extra reasons you might want to start packing your bags right now...

1) Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge

Strap in, because this isn’t just a ride, it’s a multiplayer battle in motion. Set in the incredible Super Nintendo World, Bowser’s Challenge uses cutting-edge augmented reality and immersive set design to drop you right into the Mushroom Kingdom.

You’ll race alongside Mario, dodge Koopa shells, and team up with Luigi as you take on Team Bowser. Racing through Mushroom Kingdom in this epic AR coaster adventure feels like you're actually in the game! Pure nostalgia.

2) Stardust Racers

Think you’ve seen a duelling coaster before? Think again. Stardust Racers is an intergalactic double-tracked rollercoaster that sends you soaring through space at warp speed.

A cosmic course packed with high-speed thrills, near-miss moments, and stellar surprises; this was hands down one of my favourite rides in the whole park. The two sides are totally different experiences, so make time to ride both!

3) Untrainable Dragon Show

Nestled in the Isle of Berk, this show is a must-see for fans of How to Train Your Dragon. Think soaring dragons, live stunts, dramatic music, and epic fiery battles in an open-air amphitheatre that brings the world of Hiccup and Toothless to life.

It’s heartwarming, action-packed, and a perfect breather between coasters. And if you have little ones, it’s child-friendly and full of wow-factor, fab for the whole family.

4) The Dark Universe

Not an area I was expecting to love, but how wrong I was! Dark Universe is dedicated to classic Universal Monsters like Frankenstein, Dracula, and the Wolfman. But with a bold, modern twist.

My two standout attractions? Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment, an effects-packed dark ride that’s as smart as it is scary and Curse of the Werewolf, a short, sharp coaster surprise in the woods. Don’t be fooled by its size; it’s full of bite.

5) The chance to experience it all

If you're flying all the way from the UK, you’ll want to make the most of your time. And the Universal Express Pass is your golden ticket to ride. We skipped the queues, skipped the stress, and squeezed in more rides, shows, snacks and maybe even a second go on a rollercoaster or two! It made our whole visit smoother, calmer and way more fun, so we could just experience the magic over and over again.
