Prague, Vienna and Budapest

Tour Itinerary

• Day 1 • Fly to Prague

  Your tour manager will meet you when you arrive, and you'll be transferred to your first hotel. Depending on the time you arrive, you may like to head out for your first exploration of the Czech capital. A delightful walkabout city, Prague is crammed with bars and restaurants.

• Day 2 • Walking tour of Prague and optional river cruise

  Discover Prague, one of Europe’s most beautiful capitals, on a guided walking tour of the Old Town (Staré Mesto), then cross the Charles Bridge to the Hradcany district with its imposing castle, St. Vitus’ Cathedral, and the historic Royal Palace, before wandering the charming cobbled streets of Malá Strana. The afternoon is free to explore at leisure, with an optional evening buffet dinner river cruise available.

• Day 3 • Optional tour of Dresden

  Spend the day exploring Prague at leisure, or join an optional excursion to Dresden on the River Elbe to see its restored Baroque treasures, including the Frauenkirche, Altstadt, Theaterplatz, Residenzschloss, and the Zwinger. Discover Neustadt’s lively streets and museums, and enjoy views of the Altstadt from the riverside before returning to Prague for your final evening.

• Day 4 • Travel through Boemia to Vienna

  Leave Prague and travel south through scenic forests, medieval towns, and hilltop castles to reach Vienna by early afternoon. Enjoy a guided introduction to the imperial city, including the Hofburg Palace, Old Town streets, and the vibrant café culture—don’t miss the chance to relax with coffee and cake in a traditional Viennese Kaffeehaus.

• Day 5 • Optional visit to the Schonbrunn Palace

  This morning, explore Vienna once again, or join our optional excursion to the Schönbrunn Palace. An Imperial summer home and one of Austria’s greatest treasures, this magnificent building once echoed with the music of the young Mozart.

• Day 6 • Continue to Budapest via Bratislava

  Leave Vienna and travel to Bratislava, Slovakia’s charming capital on the River Danube, known for its Baroque palaces and beautiful churches. After a few hours exploring the city, continue to Hungary’s Danube-side capital, Budapest, where you’ll spend the final two nights of your journey.

• Day 7 • Budapest tour and Danube cruise and optional folklore dinner and show

  This morning, explore Budapest, the “twin” city of Buda and Pest. In Buda, visit the castle district, medieval houses, Matyas Church, and Fishermen’s Bastion for stunning views. In Pest, see the Gothic Parliament and Heroes Square. In the afternoon, enjoy an included river cruise, with an optional evening of traditional Hungarian music and cuisine available.

• Day 8 • Fly back to the UK

  Transfer to the airport to check in for your flight home after a fascinating tour through central Europe.
