I first started my career in travel with Teletext over 20 years ago, and it’s safe to say the travel bug has never left me. I’ve been lucky enough to visit more than 50 countries and have lived on three different continents, including nine unforgettable years in China. Travel has shaped so much of who I am — it’s my biggest passion and something I love sharing with others. Recently, I’ve been working in the Hays Travel branches in Ipswich and Stowmarket, so some of you might already know me from there. Whether it’s chatting about dream destinations or swapping travel stories, I’m always happiest helping others explore the world in their own way.

Japan
I went to Japan back in 2018 and absolutely loved it. I spent time in Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto—each place had its own vibe. Tokyo was buzzing and futuristic, Osaka had some of the best food I’ve ever tasted, and Kyoto was just stunning with all its temples and old streets. It was such a cool mix of modern and traditional, and I’d go back in a heartbeat.

Eastern Europe
I’ve always loved exploring Eastern Europe—it’s such a fascinating part of the world. Just last month, I went on a solo motorcycle trip through 12 countries, covering over 4,200 miles. Riding through the Carpathian Mountains, stopping off in Veliko Tarnovo in Bulgaria with its stunning hilltop views and medieval charm, and soaking up the energy of Bucharest made it one of the most unforgettable experiences I’ve ever had.

Indochina
I had the best time travelling around Indochina—Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, and Vietnam were all amazing in their own way. Thailand was full of energy and incredible food, Laos was super relaxed with some stunning scenery, the Angkor temples in Cambodia were amazing, and Vietnam just had this awesome mix of culture and chaos. Wandering the lantern-lit streets of Hoi An was a real highlight. Every day felt like a new adventure, and I have no doubt that I'll return to explore a bit more.
