• Day 1: Charlotte

  Start your adventure with a hotel stay in Charlotte, North Carolina’s biggest city and a brilliant place to get your bearings before heading out on the road. Discover the city’s racing spirit at the NASCAR Hall of Fame, catch skyline views from Romare Bearden Park, and take on the rapids (or just cheer from the sidelines) at the U.S. National Whitewater Center. Then pick up your home on wheels and set off on a scenic loop through some of the South’s most beautiful spots.

• Day 2: Asheville – Quirky, Cool & Full of Views

  Ready to be king of the road? The next 11 nights are yours to control as you cruise through North Carolina in your C25 Motorhome. But don’t worry if you’re stuck on where to stop, here are some suggestions from our USA experts: Make your first stop in artsy Asheville, nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Drive the Blue Ridge Parkway, tour the jaw-dropping Biltmore Estate, or browse the galleries and studios of the River Arts District. Camp among the trees just minutes from town and enjoy mountain sunsets with a local brew in hand.

• Day 3: Great Smoky Mountains – Nature at Its Finest

  Head west into the misty beauty of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Hike forest trails, spot black bears, or drive the scenic Newfound Gap Road. Stay at a campground near Cherokee, where you can also learn about Native American culture and visit the Museum of the Cherokee Indian.

• Day 4: Boone – High Country Highlights

  Make your way to charming Boone, where mountain air and adventure await. Hike around Grandfather Mountain, walk the iconic Mile High Swinging Bridge, or enjoy trout fishing in a peaceful stream. It’s a cosy overnight stop with stunning scenery all around.

• Day 5-6: Raleigh – Capital Culture & Green Spaces

  Roll into Raleigh, the state capital, for a change of pace. Explore the free North Carolina Museum of Art, relax in the JC Raulston Arboretum, and dig into the city’s buzzing food scene. With RV parks nearby, it’s a great base for a couple of days of city exploring.

• Day 7: New Bern – Small Town with Big Charm

  Drive east to New Bern, a waterfront gem where two rivers meet. It’s the birthplace of Pepsi, full of colonial history, and perfect for a stroll along the marina or through Tryon Palace. Camp near the water and enjoy a peaceful evening under the stars.

• Day 8-10: Outer Banks – Wild Beaches & Windswept Beauty

  Next option: the stunning Outer Banks. This stretch of barrier islands is home to wild horses, tall lighthouses, and the site of the Wright Brothers’ first flight at Kill Devil Hills. Go kiteboarding, enjoy fresh seafood, or relax on unspoiled beaches.

• Day 11: Wilmington – Historic Coastal Cool

  Wrap up your loop with a night in Wilmington, a relaxed port city with a buzzing riverfront and charming historic district. Explore Battleship North Carolina, stroll along the Riverwalk, or hit Wrightsville Beach for one last paddle in the Atlantic. There are great campgrounds nearby, making this an easy and scenic final stop.

• Day 12: Charlotte

  Drop off your motor home today and continue to Charlotte Airport in time your flight back to the UK – hopefully with many happy memories to look back on of your North Carolina road-trip..
