Itinerary

• Day One: Sonesta Los Angeles Airport – Los Angeles

  Fly into Los Angeles where you’ll spend the night at this fully-renovated modern hotel situated less than half a mile from LAX Airport. The hotel features a 24-hour complimentary shuttle service and spaces that capture L.A.’s vibrant energy alongside chic rooms and suites, four on-site restaurants, a heated outdoor pool, and a fitness centre. Guests at this hotel may be required to pay the following mandatory fees: Resort fee $29.06 per room per night and a breakage deposit of $200 per night.

• Day Two - Los Angeles → Santa Barbara

  Depart from Los Angeles and head north along the coast to Santa Barbara. Your first night is set in this classic seaside town where you can stroll the pier, enjoy the beachfront, and settle into the relaxed coastal vibe.

• Day Three – Santa Barbara → Pismo Beach

  Today’s journey continues north to Pismo Beach. This is a great day to enjoy the beach town atmosphere, walk the pier, and take in the famous sand dunes. Spend the evening by the ocean and relax after your first day on the road.

• Day Four – Pismo Beach → Big Sur

  Drive the legendary Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) north toward Big Sur. Expect dramatic cliffside views, ocean vistas, and iconic stops such as Bixby Bridge and McWay Falls. Spend the night in the Big Sur area and take in the rugged coastline.

• Day Five – Big Sur → Monterey/Carmel-by-the-Sea

  Continue travelling north today along the coast to Monterey/Carmel-by-the-Sea. Explore Cannery Row, the Monterey Bay Aquarium, and the charming village of Carmel. This is a great place to stretch your legs and enjoy the artsy coastal town atmosphere.

• Day Six – Monterey → San Francisco

  Your next drive takes you to the ‘City by the Bay’ - San Francisco. Cross the iconic Golden Gate Bridge, explore Fisherman’s Wharf, and enjoy the city’s famous neighbourhoods. Spend the night at a nearby RV park and enjoy a city evening.

• Day Seven – San Francisco → Point Reyes

  Today’s journey leads you north across the Golden Gate Bridge and continues to Point Reyes. This day is all about coastal scenery, lighthouse views, and refreshing ocean air. Enjoy a hike or a scenic walk along the coastline before settling in for the night.

• Day Eight – Point Reyes → Mendocino

  Mendocino is your next stop as your road trip continues north. This charming coastal town is known for its rugged cliffs, art galleries, and peaceful vibe. It’s a great place to slow down and enjoy the winter coastal beauty.

• Day Nine – Mendocino → Humboldt Coast/Redwoods

  Get back behind the wheel and drive north to the Humboldt Coast to explore the redwood forests. You’ll enjoy scenic forest roads, towering trees, and quiet winter landscapes. Spend overnight near the coast for a peaceful evening.

• Day Ten – Humboldt → Avenue of the Giants

  Travel a short distance today to the Avenue of the Giants area. This is your chance to drive through some of California’s most impressive redwood groves. Spend the day walking among the giants and enjoying the serene forest environment.

• Day Eleven – Avenue of the Giants → Napa Valley

  Today’s adventure continues south to the Napa Valley. Napa Valley is famous for its hillside vineyards and leads to regional gourmet food at Napa’s Oxbow Public Market, rides on the Napa Valley Wine Train through the valley, and the nearby town of Yountville known for its sparkling wine.

• Day Twelve – Napa → Sonoma Coast

  Continue south towards the Sonoma Coast. This rugged 17-mile stretch of Pacific coastline extends from Bodega Head to north of Jenner - offering dramatic coastal bluffs, quiet beaches, and sweeping ocean views. Spend the night near the coast, enjoy the fresh sea air, and a glass of local Pinot Noir.

• Day Thirteen – Sonoma Coast → Sacramento

  Head inland to Sacramento today. Explore the Old Sacramento district that harks back to the city’s Gold Rush era with wooden sidewalks and wagon rides. Walk along the riverfront and enjoy the historic downtown. This is a good day for a relaxed city stop before heading back towards the coast.

• Day Fourteen – Sacramento → Pinnacles National Park

  Drive south today to Pinnacles National Park. This natural park offers unique rock formations, intriguing caves, desert-like landscapes, and a rich diversity of wildlife including mountain lions and condors. Spend the afternoon exploring the trails and enjoying the warmer winter temperatures.

• Day Fifteen – Pinnacles → Paso Robles

  Make the short drive to the city of Paso Robles; famous for its wineries, olive groves, and immersive Sensorio: Field of Lights. This is a great spot for wine and olive oil tasting, hot springs, and a relaxed evening in a charming town. Enjoy the local cuisine and unwind after several days on the road.

• Day Sixteen – Paso Robles → Santa Barbara

  Today sees you head back to Santa Barbara for a second night in this scenic coastal city. Enjoy the 360-degree cityscapes from Santa Barbara County Courthouse, stroll along the bustling Stearns Wharf, and explore downtown’s shops and galleries. Take the opportunity to relax and enjoy a final coastal sunset.

• Day Seventeen – Santa Barbara → Malibu/Ventura

  Get back behind the wheel and continue south along the coast to the Malibu/Ventura area. Enjoy your last full day of coastal driving, stop at scenic overlooks, and take in the final stretches of California’s famous coastline.

• Day Eighteen – Malibu/Ventura → Los Angeles

  Today, you’ll take the drive back to Los Angeles. This final day is a short drive, giving you time to drop off the RV motorhome before the overnight flight home - hopefully with many happy memories to look back on of your California Coast, Redwoods, and Desert motorhome adventure.
