Florida & The Keys Self Drive

The Journey:

• Day 1-3: Miami Beach, Florida

  Fly into Miami where your ten-night self-drive adventure gets underway with a three-night stay at Freehand Miami Beach in a Double King Room on a room-only basis. Miami Beach lets you indulge in retail therapy at Lincoln Road Mall or a spot of culture at Wolfsonian-FIU Museum. Escape to Miami Beach Botanical Garden or Vizcaya Museum Gardens. Explore the Design District art galleries, eateries, and Art Deco buildings. Encounter Jungle Island’s and Zoo Miami’s animal and birdlife; while Everglades National Park's unique ecosystem and wildlife are a just a leisurely drive away.

• Day 4-6: Key West, Florida Keys

  Drive across the Seven Mile Bridge to Key West for a three-night room-only stay at The Gates Key West in a Queen Bed Room. Key West leads to Duval Street’s unique art galleries and boutiques, Key West Historic Seaport’s fresh seafood, and Mallory Square’s nightly sunset celebration. See where the famous author lived at Ernest Hemingway House and climb the 88 steps to the top of Key West Lighthouse. Capture a photo of continental USA’s southernmost point from Southern Point Buoy or wander through Key West Butterfly and Nature Conservatory’s free-flying butterflies and exotic birds.

• Day 7-9: Key Largo, Florida Keys

  Get back behind the wheel and travel to Key Largo for a three-night room-only stay at Ocean Pointe Suites at Key Largo in an Island View King Room. Key Largo is your gateway to Marina Del Mar’s famous ‘African Queen’ steam boat, Florida Key National Marine Sanctuary’s underwater Christ of the Abyss statue, and Spiegel Grove Shipwreck’s hidden treasures. Go snorkelling and scuba diving at John Pennekamp Coral Reef Park and enjoy a few hours relaxation at Harry Harris Park & Beach. Get up close to native penguins and raptors at Florida Keys Wild Bird Center.

• Day 10: Florida City, Florida

  Embark on your final road trip towards Florida City in Miami-Dade County; where you’ll check into Home2 Suites Florida City for your final night in a King Bed Room with breakfast included. Florida City is the perfect base from which to meet the alligators at Everglades Alligator Farm, take a boat tour at Biscayne National Park, or indulge in some last-minute shopping at the brand-name stores at Florida Keys Outlet Marketplace. • Day 11: Miami - UK

  Check out of your hotel and travel to Miami International Airport in time for your overnight flight back to London Heathrow – hopefully with many happy memories to look back on of your Florida and the Florida Keys self-drive adventure.
