A modern day metropolis with a wide range of cultural diversity and a huge emphasis on technology all coming together to attract people the world over. Take a shopping trip down Orchard Road, a shopper’s paradise of designer shops and department stores you will be spoilt for choice for what to buy, journey to the Singapore Botanical Gardens with 120 acres showcasing some weird and wonderful plants or head to the world famous Raffles Hotel and relax with a Singapore Sling Cocktail. Singapore is a city that you will want to visit again and again.

• Day 5: Port Kelang (tours to Kuala Lumpur), Malaysia

  Port Kelang is gateway to the Malaysian capital of Kuala Lumpur. The city is renowned for its modern skyline dominated by the 452-metre high Petronas Twin Towers and also the 421-metre high Menara KL Tower – both offer city-wide views from their observation decks. Visit the Batu Caves guarded by the statue of Hindu deity Lord Murugan; climb the 272 steps up to the limestone caves filled with temples and shrines. Find high-end malls, fashion boutiques, and Jalan Alor street food market lining the bustling streets of Bukit Bintang. Kuala Lumpur's British colonial past comes to life at Sultan Abdul Samad Building and Royal Selangor Club on Dataran Merdeka Square. Escape to the tranquil surroundings of Kuala Lumpur Bird Park or enjoy the 7000 artefacts on display at Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia.

  Taste a true slice of Mauritian life when you step ashore at the island's capital, Port Louis. This vibrant metropolis is the perfect spot to go shopping at the lively Central Market or to sample local delicacies and the island's 58 varieties of tea by Le Caudan Waterfront. Trace Mauritian history at Blue Penny Museum and view the photographic exhibits at Musee de la Photographie. Admire the gorgeous giant Victoria Water Lilies at the famous Pamplemousses Botanical Gardens or walk under the shade of the banyan trees at Jardins de la Compagnie on La Chausee Street. Travel inland to take a horse-drawn carriage, Land Rover, or train ride through the 3,000-acre Domaine les Pailles Nature Park.

  Located on the northwest coast of Réunion Island, Le Port serves as the island’s main maritime gateway and a hub of cultural diversity. Though primarily an industrial port, it offers easy access to Réunion’s dramatic volcanic landscapes and lush interiors. A short drive brings you to Saint-Paul’s open-air market or to the black-sand beaches of Boucan Canot. Inland, explore Cirque de Mafate’s rugged peaks and hidden trails, or venture to the otherworldly lava fields near Piton de la Fournaise, one of the world’s most active volcanoes. With its fusion of French, African, and Creole influences, Réunion is a true Indian Ocean treasure of natural wonders and cultural depth.

  Durban sits on South Africa's KwaZulu-Natal coastline. This vibrant city boasts a long Golden Mile seafront promenade that runs from uShaka Marine World theme park and aquarium through to the Moses Mabhida Stadium. Escape to the tranquil surroundings of Durban Botanical Park to view the nearly-extinct living fossil plants or encounter 200+ bird species at Umgeni River Bird Park. Explore the Indian Quarter; home to Victoria Street Market and Juma Masjid Mosque. Enjoy family times at Mitchell Park and Jameson Park, Addington Beach, and Durban Ice Arena. Witness township life at Kwamuhle Museum and uncover Florida Road's eclectic mix of cafes, boutiques, galleries, and eateries.   Step ashore and uncover a world of adventure and indigenous wildlife in and around Port Elizabeth. Climb the 204 steps to admire the views from the top of Campanile Memorial at Port Elizabeth Harbour. Follow the Route 67 trail - a collection of 67 art pieces that pay tribute to Nelson Mandela and the people and culture of the Eastern Cape - or take the 5km Donkin Heritage Trail to view 47 historical sites in the Old Hill area. Red Location Museum in New Brighton Township, Nelson Mandela Metropolitan Art Museum, and Prince Alfred's Guard Memorial in St George's Park bring the city's historical and cultural past to life. Get up close to wildlife and sea life at Bayworld, Seaview Predator Park, and Kragga Kamma Game Park.

  The bustling South African city of Cape Town is a mixture of cultures, cuisines, and landscapes. Ride the cable car to the top of iconic Table Mountain; the country’s most-photographed attraction and one of the new 'Seven Wonders of Nature'. Take a boat trip to visit the infamous Robben Island; where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned and has now been transformed into a living museum. Explore the candy-coloured houses and Cape Malay spice shops that line the streets in Bo-Kaap. Come face-to-face with a great white shark on a cage dive. Head to the Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens and get lost in the flora and fauna. Experience Victoria and Alfred Waterfront's Watershed Market, Two Oceans Aquarium, and Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa; dine on a delicious platter of fresh seafood with a waterside view, or sample street food and craft beer at V&A Food Market.

  Mindelo is a port city on São Vicente - part of the Cape Verde archipelago - known for its music, nightlife, and lively carnival celebrations. Witness the colourful colonial houses that line the shores of Porto Grande Harbour and pay a call to the nearby Torre de Belém, which is a scaled-down replica of Lisbon's centuries-old tower. Mindelo's landmarks including the Governor's Palace and Paço do Concelho city hall are worth a look too. Head to the top of the island’s towering mountains and make sure to have your camera ready to capture the breath-taking views. Visit the sweeping sandy beaches that sit at the foot of the rugged mountains and gaze in awe at crystal blue waters dotted with colourful fishing boats. Take a drive through the island’s fantastic landscapes, volcanic valleys, and bustling city to discover the colourful life and culture of the islanders of Cape Verde.

  The Canary island of Gran Canaria is famous for its black lava and white sand beaches; from bustling Playa del Ingles and Puerto Rico to quieter San Augustin and Puerto de Mogan. Surfing fans can make a beeline for Pozo Izquierdo for some great waves and adventurers can hike at the Jurassic-like Caldera de Bandama or climb up to Roque Nublo for 360-degree island vistas. The capital of La Palmas is a Mecca for duty-free shopping, its historic Vegueta old town, Las Canteras urban beach, and marine life at Poema del Mar; while the nearby Jardin Botanico Canario Viera y Clavijo is the perfect escape. The awe-inspiring Dunas de Maspalomas are a must-see sight or step back to pre-Hispanic times at Cueva Pintada Museum. Get up close to wildlife and see dolphins, turtles, seals, toucans, and orchids at Palmitos Park – the biggest zoological park in the Canary Islands - or swap seals for slides at Aqualand Maspalomas Water Park, a ten-minute ride away.

• Day 36: Funchal, Madeira, Portugal

  Today the ship drops anchor at the Portuguese island of Madeira. Nicknamed the 'floating garden' due to its lush flora and fauna, there is no place that typifies this more than Funchal's Botanical Gardens. Ride in the cable car up to Monte, before returning back down to the city in a traditional toboggan? Head to the east of the island to admire the views from Pico de Arieiro, or venture west to visit the picturesque village of Câmara del Lobos and the Cabo Girão Skywalk. Take a ferry to the neighbouring island of Porto Santo, a beach-lovers paradise, or take a baptism dive with sharks and tropical fish at Aquario da Madeira.
