• Day 1: UK to Lisbon, Portugal

  Fly, arrive and transfer to Lisbon for you 1 night stay.

• Day 3: Portimao, Portugal

  The Port of Portimao is situated on the southern coast of Portugal, through the river mouth of the Arade River. The long strip of bars, clubs, cafes and restaurants along the promenade offer a selection of cuisines in a variety of themes. Heading inland, you’ll find plenty of shopping streets and a series of historic buildings. 3km to the south of Portimao city lies Praia da Rocha; a modern town packed with the facilities you’d expect from a beachside resort. The Port of Portimao is also just 20km away from nearby town Lagos. Learn about the history of the region with its charming buildings and peaceful ambience. Also situated in Lagos is the Praia do Anna, a small cove regarded as one of the most scenic beaches in the world.

• Day 4: Cadiz (Seville), Spain

  The ancient port city of Cadiz lies on a peninsula on Spain's south-west coast. From its bustling harbour to its Moorish-style old town, Cadiz is awash with things to see and do. Explore Museo de Cadiz and Museo de las Cortes de Cadiz, or visit the cathedral to see more of the city from its Toree de Poniente. Soak up the sunshine on Playa de Caleta beach and escape to Parque Genoves. Relax with a plate of fried fish on Plaza de Flores, before shopping in the adjacent Mercado Central de Abastos. Venture further afield and experience flamenco and fiestas in the tree-lined streets of Seville or uncover the art of sherry making in Jerez.

• Day 5: Motril, Spain

  Motril sits on Spain's Costa Tropical, mid-way between Malaga and Almeria. This vibrant port town has a pretty marina where you can take boat trips and enjoy water sports facilities. Spend a few hours soaking up the sunshine on Playa Granada or Playa Poniente beaches. Explore the world of sugar production at Museo Preindustrial de la Cana de Azucar or take a walk through the town to admire the 16th-century La Encarnacion church and the Baroque-style City Hall. No visit here would be complete without people-watching as you enjoy a few beers and tapas at a local bar. If you fancy some water-based fun, you'll find Aqua Tropic Park in Almunecar, 30 minutes away. The city of Granada with its famous Alhambra Palace is also a 45-minute drive.

• Day 6: Gibraltar

  Gibraltar is a vibrant slice of Britain at the heart of the sunny Mediterranean. From its helmet-wearing policemen and fish and chips to familiar stores such as Marks & Spencer, this place truly feels like home. Take a cable car up to Europa Point to meet the famous Barbary macaque tailless monkeys and admire all of Gibraltar. Explore the labyrinth of the Great Siege Tunnels and St Michael's Cave inside The Rock. Enjoy a stroll to the Moorish Castle or discover the 100 Ton Gun at the Napier Magdala Battery beside Rosia Bay. Indulge in VAT-free shopping on Main Street and uncover local artisan shops and Gibraltar Crystal Factory on Casemates Square.

• Day 7: Ibiza, Spain

  Ibiza is part of Spain's Balearic Islands. Famous for its lively nightlife, this popular island also features plenty of landmarks and activities to enjoy. Walk the perimeter of Dalt Vila's Renaissance ramparts and see the 18th-century Sant Carles church. You can stroll through the UNESCO World Heritage site of the old town district and stop for a beer or coffee at one of the welcoming cafes and tapas bars. Sail to Es Vedra — a tall limestone island that is famous for being a site of myths and legends. Ibiza Town and San Antonio Bay have a huge selection of bars, restaurants and entertainment venues open both day and night. Enjoy paella, lobster and steaks at a waterfront restaurant, before an evening of wines, cocktails and live music.

• Day 8: Palma (Majorca), Spain

  Palma sits on the south coast of Balearic island of Majorca and is the island's capital city. The streets of this vibrant port city are lined with an eclectic mix of restaurants, bars, galleries, shops, and heritage buildings. Explore the narrow alleys and lanes of the old town, before spending time at the impressive Palma Cathedral. Indulge in retail therapy on Avenida Jaume III, Passeig de Born, and the streets around the Placa Major. Palma Aquarium, Bellver Castle and the Joan Miro Foundation are well worth a visit, too. The dolphin, sea lion and parrot shows at Marineland and Poble Espanyol — a collection of Spain's famous buildings in miniature — are great for family times. Or why not take a scenic train ride to the town of Soller or travel inland to the Caves of Drach?

• Day 9: Barcelona, Spain to UK

  Today your cruise comes to an end
