Travel agents sponsor ‘book bundle’ for local nursery school

A group of Coleraine travel agents have sponsored a book bundle for Kylemore Nursery School.
Hays Travel Coleraine teamed up with Amy McFarland, who recently started a small book business in conjunction with Usborne Books, with a strong focus on supporting children’s learning, wellbeing, and mental health.
Amy’s carefully selected children’s book bundles are donated to local primary schools and are designed to support emotional wellbeing, confidence, resilience, and a love of reading.
Hays Travel has sponsored a book bundle for the children at Kylemore Nursery School in Coleraine.
Branch manager, Kate Heggarty, said: “Children across Northern Ireland are currently facing significant mental health challenges. Early access to the right books, particularly those that help children understand emotions, build self-esteem, and feel supported, can make a real difference.
“It was a privilege for Hays Travel Coleraine to sponsor one of these book bundles for Kylemore Nursery School.
"The sponsorship delivers bundles directly into schools that may otherwise struggle to fund new resources, ensuring that children who need them most can benefit."

Independent Usborne books partner, Amy McFarland, said: “I started working with Usborne as I’ve always been passionate about helping children develop a love of reading and supporting families with accessible resources.
"Through my work, I’ve seen first-hand how books can open conversations around feelings and wellbeing, which is why the mental health book bundles felt like such an important project to be involved in.
“Working with local businesses to sponsor these bundles meant we could place valuable resources directly into schools and nurseries in our community, helping children, parents and staff access supportive stories and tools.
"It’s been really special to see local organisations come together to support young people in such a positive way."
Hays Travel is the UK’s largest independent travel agent, with branches across the UK - all committed to supporting their customers and the local communities they serve.
Each Hays Travel branch is provided with a £500 budget to use for fundraising and charity work in their local area; £200 of this is to be used to fundraise for charities which support young people’s mental health, and the other £300 can be used for charities chosen by the branch.
In the last year, Hays Travel’s Local Community Partnership initiative across its retail network has donated almost £170,000 to local charities.
