Travelling across the Atlantic to Canada on an epic holiday features on many bucket-lists, and it’s easy to see why! Whether you’re a thrill seeker or a nature lover; this vast country lets you experience everything from vibrant cities and awe-inspiring natural wonders to iconic sights, fascinating wildlife, and so much more.
To inspire you to take the plunge and jet across the ocean for a unique and once-in-a-lifetime adventure; we’ve put together a list of Canada’s not-to-be-missed sights that you really need to visit during your stay.
1. Niagara Falls

When it comes to iconic sights, they don’t come much better than Niagara Falls! Sitting along the American border and an hour’s drive from Toronto; they comprise three waterfalls - namely the Horseshoe Falls, American Falls, and Bridal Veil Falls - on the Niagara River. Take a ride on the Maid of the Mist into the rapids directly below the Falls. Journey Behind the Falls leads to the observation platform and the tunnels near the bottom of Horseshoe Falls. Ride the unique glass lift up to Skylon Tower’s observation deck for awe-inspiring vistas across Niagara Falls and to Toronto and beyond.
Top Tip: Don’t forget to wear comfy shores and a waterproof!
2. Canadian Rockies
The awe-inspiring Canadian Rockies mountain range winds its way through the British Columbia and Alberta provinces. Along its path it takes in natural wonders like the towering, ice-capped Mt. Robson; Yoho National Park’s Takkakaw Falls; Jasper National Park’s Athabasca Glacier; and Banff National Park’s glacier-fed Lake Louise. You can even take the ultimate journey through the Canadian Rockies aboard the luxurious Rocky Mountaineer train – hopefully catching sight of indigenous wildlife like grizzly and black bears, moose, and caribou enroute.
Top Tip: Visit popular sights like Lake Louise and Moraine Lake early in the morning to avoid the crowds.

3. Old Quebec City

Step back in time and bask in the European charm of the UNESCO-listed, fortified city of Old Québec (aka Vieux-Québec). The Lower Town along the St Lawrence River plays host to Place Royale’s ancient Eglise Notre-Dame-des-Victoires, the fascinating exhibits at Musee de la Civilization, and the 59-step L’Escalier Casse-Cou; while the Upper Town boasts the opulent and much-photographed Fairmont Le Château Frontenac, Cap Diamant’s La Citadelle, and Rue du Petit-Champlain’s boutiques, art galleries, and cafes.
Top Tip: Pre-book a walking tour with a local guide to get the most out of your visit.
4. Vancouver Island
Escape the hustle and bustle of the mainland with a two-hour ferry ride over to Vancouver Island. This place perfectly blends sightseeing and culture in vibrant Victoria with the north’s wild and remote landscapes. Don’t miss seeing the ancient trees – many of which are over a 1,000 years old – of Eden Grove and Cathedral Grove. Tofino on the rugged west coast is gateway to Pacific Rim National Park Reserve’s sandy beaches, year-round surfing, and wild natural scenery along hiking trails.
Top Tip: Pack a waterproof as the weather can change quickly, carry some cash to use in smaller businesses, and allow yourself plenty of time to explore.

5. Toronto's CN Tower

Standing proudly on the shores of Lake Ontario in Toronto; the impressive CN Tower is 553 metres high and visible for miles around. Treat yourself to fine dining with a side order of views in the revolving 360 Restaurant. Admire the city’s sights from a unique perspective at the LookOut Level and the Glass Floor. If you’ve got a head for heights; why not take the ultimate challenge of stepping outside onto the CN Tower EdgeWalk and walking around the building 116 stories above ground?!
