Ellie Smith - My Apprenticeship story
One of the best things of working for Hays Travel is the family feeling and working with the most friendliest bunch of people. I really feel that I have made friends for life! Throughout the Apprenticeship Programme and after you get continuous support from your manager and colleagues to help you you progress in your career.
As well as this you are also entitled to discount off of your own holidays and which is a real bonus, you also get to attend shows/social events to help develop your knowledge in specific areas and destinations of the world. A few months ago I attended an evening event at Bovey Castle which consisted of a 3 course dinner followed by quiz's and a chance to win prizes.
I was lucky enough to go on an educational trip to Lapland in November last year which was the absolute highlight of my time with Hays. I learn so much about the beautiful country and got to take part in many exciting activities.
I was runner up for "Apprentice Of The Year" in 2018 which was a real achievement for me, as well as this I have been a "High Flyer" for 2 years running and which I have attended the High Flyers Ball in Bournemouth. It is a magical night to recognise the members of staff who do go above and beyond and to just let you hair down and have a boogie.
Hays Travel do also put on an annual Garden Party at John Hays' house and also a cracking Christmas Party!
