LS-TEN
LS-TEN is a Leeds based charity that aims to provide a safe, engaging and inclusive environment which aims to reduce inequality and raise aspirations using sport and education. The organisation promotes equality and diversity through alternative sports such as skateboarding, scootering, roller skating and BMX riding.
LS-TEN received funding from the Hays Travel Foundation to fund the Gender Minority Night which aims to engage more girls and gender minority groups to come to LS-TEN’s skatepark. By inviting girls and gender minority girls to the skatepark, it supports them to make more positive decisions and work towards safer communities.
With the funding from the Hays Travel Foundation, participants have been given a new lease of life and have found the sessions extremely beneficial. For example, one young person who started coming to the sessions anxious and nervous however have since came out of their shell since attending.
