Hanley Local Community Partnership
Hays Travel Hanley arranged a charity hike in aid of Dougie Mac. Dougie Mac is an organisation that provides hospice services to people with life limiting illnesses in Stoke-on-Trent and North Staffordshire. The organisation provides both services for adults and children at hospices, as well as in the local community and patients’ own homes.
For the hike, colleagues from Hays Travel Hanley decided to climb to the summit of 978-metre mountain, Scafell Pike in the Lake District. Prior to this, the branch had climbed up Snowdon previously however they stated to have found the hike up Scafell Pike a lot tougher but it was worth it due to the challenge being for worthy cause, Scafell Pike.
The branch had a great time completing the challenge, with Jody from the branch stating that “We had a fantastic day completing such a challenge for a very worthy cause.” In total, the branch managed to raise over £660 for Dougie Mac which will go towards the development of their services.
