Colne Local Community Partnership

Hays Travel Colne completed a charity canoe event across the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct in Wales which is the largest aqueduct in the world. The branch arranged the event in aid of Open Door charity which is a charity based in Colne. The charity responds to the needs of the local population who live in social isolation and have become marginalised by society.

In the run up to the event, the branch asked from donations to sponsor them to take on the challenge, and the donations encouraged the branch to do the best they could for the charity. Despite some colleagues in the branch being afraid of heights, everyone participated and did their part for charity. 

In total, the branch raised over £1,020 for Open Door which will go towards helping Open Door to offer their services to more people in need.
