Cameron Toll Local Community Partnership

Paul Morgan from Hays Travel Cameron Toll branch, cycled from Land’s End to John O’Groats, alongside three friends in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. Macmillan Cancer Support provides support to people affected by cancer, as well as information about cancer diagnosis and treatment. The organisation offers emotional, practical and financial support, as well as care from specialist nurses.

For the challenge, Paul and his three friends set off from Land’s End, and cycled for around 15 hours a day over five days until they reached John O’Groats. The journey from Lands End to John O’Groats was described as ‘self supported’, meaning that there were no support vehicles or back up, and nights were spent in a mix of caravans, B&Bs and pubs.

Paul said, “Every day had it’s challenges, its highs and its lows. The most important thing to me was raising as much awareness and money as possible!” In total, Paul managed to raise over £3,600 which will go to helping people with cancer receive the support they need.
