The places that make me smile
Cyprus I have travelled to Cyprus many times staying in Ayia Napa, Protaras and Paphos. Cyprus is a family orientated country and the Cypriots are very friendly and welcoming. The Troodos Mountains are breath-taking with lovely villages dotted around whilst many of the beaches are Blue Flag beaches including Coral Bay and Nissi Beach. Ayia Napa is famed for its party vibe whilst Protaras is more of a family resort. My biggest surprise in Paphos was seeing the Pelicans at the harbour! Cyprus really does have something for everyone.
Australia Whilst in Australia I stayed in Perth which is in Western Australia. We saw the Swan River, Millionaires Row and Visited Hillary’s Boat Harbour. Here you can walk along the boardwalk, enjoy one of the many great eateries or simply bathe on the sheltered beach. North of Perth is the Ningaloo Marine Park where you can find turtles, humpback whales and even whale sharks which all congregate on the Ningaloo Reef. Of course, we can’t talk about Australia without mentioning the stunning Great Barrier Reef; one of the 7 wonders of the world. This is the world’s largest coral reef system, with 1500 species of fish and over 400 types of coral. It’s easy to see why this is the perfect location for diving, snorkelling and sailing.
Florida My family and I travelled to Florida as a group to see Disneyland. We stayed in the Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside in a beautiful room and regularly sailed down the Sassagoula River to Downtown Disney. There is so much going on including the Cirque de Soliel and then there are the parks! We watched fireworks, visited the Epcot Centre, Experienced the Magic Kingdom and so much more. The Rainforest Café is a must with its talking tree, but my own personal favourite was Discovery Cove in Orlando. We spent the day here swimming in the lagoon with huge rays, snorkelling in the pristine waters and the piece de resistance – swimming with dolphins! This experience was phenomenal and a memory that I treasure to this day.
