Sporting activities include: aerobics, aqua aerobics, beach volleyball, snorkelling, table tennis, and water polo. There's a kids' club, children's pool, playground, adventure climbing frame, and mini discos for the children.

Other facilities include: Internet cafe, Arabic language courses, laundry service, 24-hour limousine service, and free daily shuttle bus to the nearby town of Hurghada. For an extra cost, treat yourself to a beach massage or take advantage of Makadi Sports Centre.

Room Facilities

The hotel has 302 guest rooms and suites. As standard, all rooms feature: balcony or terrace with sea or garden views, en-suite bathroom (with bath or shower) and hairdryer, air-conditioning, safe, satellite TV, seating area, telephone, and minibar.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are all served in the Lagoon Beach restaurant with international favourites and delicious buffet dishes. Lunch time snacks and light meals for children are served at Mermaid and Starfish. For authentic Italian dishes visit the a la carte Leonardo Restaurant, Tarboush restaurant serves a la carte oriental dishes with live entertainment, or book into Island pool for traditional Lebonese cuisine.

Refreshing soft drinks, fruity cocktails and premium alcohol are all served at the poolside bar throughout the day.

The Grand Makadi Hotel is located 25km from Hurghada International Airport and 35km from the centre of Hurghada.

Been to sharm many times first time here and what can I say staff so rude, all they want is your money. Food awful unless u paid for decent food in the other restaurants, room dated, the only good thing was the grounds are spotless, sea amazing, wouldn’t go back to this hotel again.and wouldn’t recommend to my fruends

Excellent service and extremely clean, great food.
Booking into hotel was poor but the flight had been 4hours delayed, however the reception at the hotel was poor.

I am afraid to say this resort is in need of major refurbishment very didsapointing. I cut myself on the wooden sunbeds on beach in bad need of replacing terrible. We both got bad stomach upset and other did too. I have never experienced this before we needed a chemist charged £20 to get us both better. I didn't eat for nearly 5 days! Very disappointed in the holiday.

More like a 3star not 5. Blood on pillow , hairdryer held together with black tape , shower curtain to short floor got wet when taking shower , light hanging out of bathroom ceiling , bath chipped badly toilet stained . Some staff very rude but apart from that was ok ,taken pictures for evidence if you you like to see .

I asked the hotel in advance about steps and was told there were none, however there were 24 steps between the reception / restaurant area and the rest of the hotel. The lift was several hundred yards away in the wrong direction and it was only by luck that a cleaner showed me the service lift which was slightly closer. This had a big impact on my holiday.

It looks as if you only have one question for feedback - I would like to thank Cathy Hewitt at Bath Travel who went to great lengths to search and find me a suitable holiday for snorkelling without having to walk too far or catch boats - she found the best possible holiday at a good price, despite all my mobility and other constraints. Fantastic service - THANK YOU!

The Makadi Bay complex would really benefit from tuk tuks - there is no local transport and it cost £6 for a taxi for 1/4 mile. The hotels don't have buggies which could be an alternative means of transport around the hotel complexes - there were a lot of people with walking sticks who could benefit from this.

Signs to the lift/s, restaurants etc would also help those who have problems with walking.

The hotel jetty is great and leads to a fantastic house reef. There are missed opportunities here, apparently there is a tiny sign about the marine life but I never saw it - they could make MUCH more of identifying and informing about the fish and corals. The lifeguard didn't speak a word of English and most guests are Russian or German, which caused problems when I needed to be lifesaved - there was NO information about tides or currents which might have prevented this.

A shower at the landward end of the jetty would be a huge plus - they have just installed 2 shops there instead, it felt as if the only aim is to grab your money. And the dive centre is nearly a mile away.

5 weeks later and the post cards still haven't arrived ......
