Day 1: Arrive Bangkok
On arrival into Bangkok International Airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. After check-in at Theatre Residence in Bangkok, you will have the remainder of the day free to explore the city. Brimming with colour and larger than life, Bangkok is one of the most exciting cities in the world.
Day 2: Bangkok
This morning, after breakfast, you will head off on your included Urban Fun Tour. Meet your guide at Sanam Chai MRT station, where the Museum of Siam is located, and enjoy a tour of the museum and several interactive exhibits where you can learn more about the history of Thai people and their relationships with neighbouring cultures. Afterwards, hop on a traditional longtail boat to meander through the quaint canals, taking in the quieter side of Bangkok life on the Thonburi side of the Chao Phraya River. Stop at the Artist Village and refresh with an iced coffee and a local lunch of noodles or pad Thai. Enjoy a traditional Thai puppet show performed by local artists, then explore the craft shop and local temple. Afterwards, walk through the quiet and small lanes to Bang Pai MRT Station that connects to the Skytrain network where the tour concludes.
This evening, you will embark on an exciting Street Eats Tour by tuk-tuk. Meet your guide and ride through Bangkok’s vibrant streets until reaching Saphan Khao Market, where you will wander the rows of bustling stalls, learn about local delicacies, and sample from the vast array of street food. Afterwards, hop back into the iconic vehicle and continue your culinary excursion of the city’s hidden eateries. Stop by a Michelin-starred pad Thai restaurant for an explosion of spicy and savoury flavours; travel to Phra Athit Road to encounter Bangkok’s Roti expert and taste incredible Thai-Indian cuisine; then end your evening at a laidback riverside rooftop bar where you can sip on a refreshing cocktail and soak up the splendid views.
Day 3: Bangkok
Today, after breakfast, enjoy a free day to explore Bangkok at your leisure. Why not visit Chinatown, one of Bangkok’s most vibrant and authentic neighbourhoods, where visitors flock in their hordes to experience the amazing street-side cuisine and shopping? Or perhaps spend an enjoyable morning out of the city and experience authentic Thai culture at a floating market.
Day 4: Bangkok – Pattaya
This morning, you will check out of your hotel early and be ready for pick up at 06.30. En route to your next stop you will have the opportunity to enjoy a very unique animal conservation experience. You will travel to the Royal Thai Marine Corps (RTMC), Sattahip, where you will first visit the Marine Corp Museum before enjoying an included lunch. After lunch, listen to a short brief on marine animal conservation by the RTMC team. Hear about how Thailand’s declining crab population means the natural and ecological balance in the area will be hard to maintain, then take a boat ride to release baby sea crabs back into the sea. Afterwards, enjoy some free time by having a swim in the sea or renting a kayak (own expense), before transferring to the X2 Vibe Seaphere Hotel in Pattaya.
Days 5-6: Pattaya
You will have two full free days in Pattaya to enjoy its lively atmosphere and beaches. If you would like to explore the surrounding islands during your stay, then full-day optional sightseeing excursions are available to Koh Lan and Koh Samed (additional expense).
Day 7: Pattaya – Koh Kood
After breakfast, you will check out of your hotel and transfer (without guide) to Laem Sok Pier, then take the hotel catamaran to Koh Kood and check into Away Koh Kood Resort. Known as ‘Thailand’s last unspoilt island’, Koh Kood is an incredible island hideaway for those looking to discover a slower pace of life and understated luxury. Enjoy the rest of the day leisure.
Days 8-11: Koh Kood
You have four full free days in Koh Kood where you can do as much or as little as you like. Enjoy relaxation time in your bungalow accommodation or at the resort’s pool, or perhaps visit the spa for a restorative treatment. For those looking to stay a little more active, the resort offers activities including kayaking and a PADI dive centre. Out with the resort, the island offers a host of beaches, jungles, and waterfalls to explore. There isn’t much in the way of public transport on this idyllic island, however, as the roads are almost deserted, renting a scooter to explore is the ideal option.
Day 12: Depart Thailand
Relax at the hotel until it is time for your catamaran transfer to Laem Sok Pier. You will then transfer without tour guide to Bangkok International Airport for your flight back to the UK.
