Day 1: Arrive Colombo
Upon arrival into Colombo Airport you will be met by your guide and transferred to Movenpick Colombo, with a brief orientation tour of the city en route. After check-in you may wish to explore more of Colombo on your own. Stroll to Pettah, Colombo’s main market and be dazzled by the variety of gems on offer; sample some of the city’s fine fare; or perhaps visit one of the city’s shopping malls and department stores that offer brand-name clothing at highly discounted prices.

Day 2: Colombo – Sigiriya
After breakfast, you’ll check out of the hotel and be driven to Sigiriya, for your three night stay at Habarana Village by Cinnamon. On the way you will visit Dambulla Cave Temple. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is said to be the largest and best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka, encompassing numerous caves filled with a collection of religious statues and colourful murals.

Day 3: Sigiriya
Today you will be escorted to Sigiriya Rock Fortress – one of the most dramatic and beautiful historical locations in the world, which stands at nearly 200m high. Climb the stairs to the top and walk through the mouth of an enormous carved lion to reach an ancient palace that dates back over 1,500 years. From the top you can also enjoy impressive 360-degree views of the surrounding jungle. In the afternoon, you will enjoy a jeep safari at Minneriya National Park. In addition to being a feeding ground for many elephants, this park is also home to numerous other rare and exotic species.

Day 4: Polonnaruwa
After a hearty breakfast, today’s sightseeing will take you to Polonnaruwa. The city is comprised of two distinct parts: the New Town area and the royal ancient city of the Kingdom of Polonnaruwa – the second oldest of Sri Lanka’s ancient kingdoms. This rich archaeological treasure trove contains countless fascinating ruins, all conveniently grouped into one compact and easily accessible tourist site.

Day 5: Sigiriya – Kandy
Today, you’ll travel to the Royal City of Kandy, enjoying a short visit to a spice garden in Matale en route. Thereafter, continue to Kandy and check into Cinnamon Citadel Hotel. After check-in, you’ll enjoy a guided city tour, followed by a cultural show in the early evening. The show is a unique and vibrant display of traditional Sri Lankan dances accompanied by ceremonial drums. After, you can return to your hotel or enjoy dinner in the city.

Day 6: Kandy – Negombo
This morning, after a leisurely breakfast, drive towards Suriya Arana Hotel, situated in the coastal town of Negombo. Spend time exploring Negombo, known for its massive age-old fishing industry with busy markets and sandy beaches. Attractions include holdovers from the Dutch period, including the Dutch Canal and the Old Dutch fort gate.

Day 7: Negombo – Maldives
After breakfast, enjoy a few hours at leisure in your hotel before you head for your flight to the Maldives. After arriving at Male Airport, transfer to your domestic flight to The Barefoot Eco Hotel, where you will stay for the next seven nights.

Days 8-13: Barefoot Eco Hotel, Maldives
Spend the next seven days relaxing in your beautiful resort, located within an almost untouched forest on Hanimaadhoo Island, in the North of the Maldives. A half-mile, private, sand beach and a turquoise lagoon frame the hotel. You’ll love spending your days feasting on fine-dining at the sea-view restaurant, unwinding while you enjoy rejuvenating spa treatments, and enjoying the variety of activities and excursions available, including snorkelling, kayaking, dolphin watching, and more.

Day 14: Maldives – UK
In the morning, enjoy a relaxed breakfast before catching your domestic flight to Male Airport for your flight back to the UK, with your memories of an amazing adventure to treasure.
