Full Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive Port Elizabeth
Upon arrival into Port Elizabeth Airport, you will be transferred to your hotel, 5th Avenue Beach House, where you will stay for the next four nights. Whilst in Port Elizabeth, dubbed the ‘friendly city’, you can explore its 25 miles of coastline with beautiful sandy beaches, including the renowned King's Beach, Pollock Beach and Seaview, and enjoy the warm, turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean. The bay is also home to the world’s largest breeding colony of African penguins.
You can learn about the history of the city on a visit to Donkin Reserve, a picturesque hilltop park with a lighthouse and views over the city and ocean. Here lies a pyramid-shaped memorial to Elizabeth Donkin, the city’s namesake, and you can follow a heritage trail between the monuments and artwork throughout the park.
In the evening, relax and enjoy a Welcome Braai Dinner, a traditional South African barbeque, at your hotel.

Day 2: Port Elizabeth, Sibuya Game Reserve
After breakfast, you will enjoy a Half Day Sibuya Game Reserve safari, inclusive of lunch and boat cruise. Sibuya boasts an abundance of diverse wildlife including elephants, otters, almost 400 species of birds and the illustrious Big Five, making it one of South Africa’s most unique safari destinations.
In the evening, why not head to Richmond Hill, a previously run-down suburb, now known for its artisanal restaurants, some of which are housed in traditional Victorian homes!

Day 3: Port Elizabeth
Following breakfast at your hotel, you have today at leisure to either relax and enjoy the hotel facilities, or explore more of what Port Elizabeth has to offer.
You could visit the upmarket, laidback suburb of Summerstrand, where you can either stroll along the golden beach or hit the Boardwalk Casino Complex with its mix of shopping, entertainment, gaming and fun set out around a series of man-made lakes and gardens.
Alternatively, head to the slightly livelier Kings Beach, ideal for a dip in the sea, sunbathing and long beach walks, as well as a pit stop at the snack bar.

Day 4: Port Elizabeth, Addo Elephant National Park Drives
Once you’ve fuelled up at breakfast, you will head out for a day at Addo Elephant National Park, considered to be one of the most scenic in South Africa. As the name suggests, it is most famous for its magnificent elephants, however it is also home to large herds of buffalo, black rhinos, a variety of antelope species, and other South African wildlife. Set your inner ranger free, using your binoculars to spot the wildlife as you journey through the park with a qualified guide in a closed vehicle.

Day 5-7: Port Elizabeth - Amakhala Woodbury Lodge
After breakfast, you will check out of your hotel and take a transfer to Amakhala Woodbury Lodge, a game reserve which provides a genuine bush holiday experience in an intimate, tranquil atmosphere, where you will stay for the next 3 nights, with all meals and local drinks included.
During your time here, you will enjoy the excitement of two included daily game drives where you can spot the Big Five as well as cheetah, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, various antelope species, and many other smaller fascinating animals. Situated above Bushman’s River valley, the reserve boasts spectacular topography and offers fantastic bird watching opportunities which you can enjoy from your private deck or optional tour.
When you’re not exploring the great outdoors, why not relax in the swimming pool, perfect for afternoon dips and soaking up the sun or visit the Amakhala Craft Centre, or the Bushman Sands Golf Course and Health Spa.

Day 9: Amakhala Woodbury Lodge – UK
Today, after your final breakfast, your transfer will take you to Port Elizabeth Airport where you will travel overnight to return home to the UK.
