Full itinerary

Day 1: Fly UK to Vancouver
Upon arrival into Vancouver airport you will take a private transfer to Sheraton Vancouver Wall Centre for a three-night stay on a room-only basis. Vancouver is an energetic and lively city where urban amenities and incomparable nature overlap and intertwine. With several diverse districts to explore there’s an abundance of shops, galleries, museums, nightlife, and outdoor pursuits to keep you busy, not to mention an incredible variety of culinary delights.

Day 2: Vancouver City & Capilano Suspension Bridge Tour
Today you have an included tour of Vancouver that will take you through all the city’s most fascinating spots, including Canada Place, Robson Street, sports venues, the library, theatres, Chinatown, Granville Island, and historic Gastown. You’ll also make a stop in beautiful Stanley Park en route to the Capilano Suspension Bridge in the North Shore rainforest. Cross the impressive 450ft-long bridge over a spectacular canyon to the Treetops Adventure observation structure where you can further explore the rainforest via a series of smaller suspension bridges and viewing platforms.

Day 3: Vancouver
Today, enjoy a day at leisure in Vancouver. Perhaps take a gondola ride to the top of Grouse Mountain for stunning views and an entertaining lumberjack show, rent a bike and head back to Stanley Park, or take a day trip to Victoria on Vancouver Island.

Day 4: Rocky Mountaineer: Vancouver to Kamloops
Early this morning, you will be transferred from your hotel to board the Rocky Mountaineer train at Vancouver Station. On today's journey you will see dramatic changes in scenery, from the lush green fields of the Fraser Valley, through forests and winding river canyons surrounded by the peaks of the Coast and Cascade Mountains, to the desert-like environment of the BC Interior. Highlights include the rushing waters of Hell's Gate in the Fraser Canyon and the steep slopes and rock sheds along the Thompson River. Breakfast and lunch are both included on board. Your day concludes as the Rocky Mountaineer arrives into Kamloops between 6:00pm and 7:30pm. You will then be transferred to your hotel in Kamloops and have the evening free to explore the city or relax in your hotel room. All hotels in Kamloops are of moderate standard, your hotel will be assigned post-booking.

Day 5: Rocky Mountaineer: Kamloops to Banff
There’s another early rise today as you are transferred from the hotel back to Kamloops Station, ready to board the Rocky Mountaineer for 6:25am. Today, your journey continues eastwards to the mighty Canadian Rockies and the province of Alberta. Once again you will see a spectacular array of scenery as you travel across ranchlands, along rocky lakeshores, over high mountain passes and through the remarkable tunnels that form part of the rich rail history of the Canadian Rockies. Highlights include Craigellachie, where the last spike of the Canadian Pacific Railway was driven, the climb over Rogers Pass, Kicking Horse Canyon, the Spiral Tunnels and, of course, the glaciers and snow-capped peaks of the Canadian Rockies. Breakfast and lunch are both included on board. Your rail journey ends this evening upon arrival in Banff, between 7:00pm and 8:30pm. You will be transferred to Banff Inn, where you will spend the next three nights on a room-only basis.

Day 6: Banff
Today, enjoy a free day to explore the scenic town of Banff. Perhaps visit the Banff Upper Hot Springs, go hiking through Banff National Park, ride the Banff Gondola to the summit of Sulphur Mountain, explore stunning caves and trails at Cave and Basin National Historic Site, or take a trip to nearby Lake Louise.

Day 7: Icefields Parkway
Today, you will enjoy a full-day tour along the Icefields Parkway, a scenic stretch of road dotted with over 100 ancient glaciers and cascading waterfalls. Your route provides spectacular views of the Columbia Icefield – one of the largest masses of ice south of the Arctic Circle, and also includes a trip directly onto the Athabasca Glacier in a special Ice Explorer snow coach. Following your on-ice adventure, you will head to the Glacier Skywalk and stroll the one-kilometre cliff-edge walkway where giant glaciers perch above you, passing waterfalls, wildlife, fossils and more. A hearty lunch is included with the tour.

Day 8: Return to the UK
This morning, you will be collected from the hotel by a scheduled transfer and driven to Calgary airport for your flight back to the UK.
