Overview:

Explore the north-east region of South Africa, travelling from Johannesburg to Blyde River Canyon, the third largest canyon in the world. Take a tour along the scenic Panorama Route and end your holiday in a luxury lodge on the outskirts of Kruger National Park.

Enjoy a full day Tuk Tuk tour of Soweto township where you’ll sample typical delicacies from street stalls, traditional beer and Mageu. You’ll then head on an authentic village tour in Kruger where you’ll experience true local culture before head on exciting game drives in search of the elusive Big Five. 

This tour includes: return flights, 4 nights’ hotel accommodation, 3 nights at a luxury lodge, 7 breakfasts, 5 lunches, 6 dinners, game drives, all transfers, and sightseeing tours as specified below.

Day 1: UK to Johannesburg

Fly from selected UK airports to Johannesburg.


Day 2: Johannesburg

On arrival into Johannesburg International Airport, you will be collected by your driver to be transferred to Africlassic Rivonia by BON Hotels, where you will stay for 2 nights. Enjoy included lunch in Soweto and Moroccan themed evening dinner in the hotel. 


Day 3: Johannesburg

Start the day with included breakfast at the hotel before transferring to Soweto for a cultural Tuk Tuk tour through the township. Highlights of the tour include; a visit to Mzimhlophe Hostel to learn about the mine workers conditions during the Apartheid era; sampling some typical township delicacies from street stalls and traditional beer and Mageu; and stopping at the Hector Pieterson Memorial site, Mandela House and Desmond Tutu’s home. Today you’ll enjoy lunch and dinner in Soweto. 


Day 4: Johannesburg – Blyde Canyon

Fuel up with an early breakfast at the hotel before departing Johannesburg to head to Forever Resort Blyde Canyon, where you will stay for 2 nights. Enjoy time and lunch at leisure, soaking in stunning scenery before an evening meal included at the hotel. 


Day 5: Blyde Canyon

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the hotel, then start your Panorama Route tour where you can soak in the natural beauty of this scenic route and witness breathtaking natural wonders, including the Blyde River Canyon, fascinating rock formations, stunning waterfalls, and myriad fauna and flora… don’t forget your camera! Enjoy lunch at leisure during one of the stops and dinner at leisure when back at the hotel.  


Day 6: Blyde Canyon – Kruger National Park

Tuck into an early breakfast before departing the hotel and transferring to Buckler’s Africa Lodge by BON Hotels on the outskirts of Kruger National Park, where you’ll stay for 3 nights. This journey through Kruger National Park will be your first safari, providing the opportunity to spot one of the Big Five. Enjoy lunch at leisure during a stop and you’ll love the arrival drinks and included dinner at the hotel.


Day 7: Kruger National Park

Enjoy breakfast with a view and a morning at leisure, with the option of a safari at an additional cost. Savour an included lunch before embarking on a village tour to experience the local culture in this part of South Africa. Return to the Lodge for a hearty dinner (included). 


Day 8: Kruger National Park

After breakfast, transfer to a sister property (where later you will enjoy an included lunch) in the Kruger National Park where you will begin a full day game drive, and hope to spot the Big Five. Once back at the lodge, get involved in a traditional Braai evening with a cultural dance show that will be sure to entertain.  


Day 9: Kruger National Park - UK

Depart the hotel after breakfast to journey back to Johannesburg for your flight back to the UK.
