As part of our local community partnership we decided to do our very own Jarrow Crusade in aid of the Autistic Centre at Jarrow School. This is going back to the 1930s, where over 200 men marched from Jarrow to the Houses of Parliament in London to attract attention and get people to listen. As we couldn't march to London, we did the 300 miles in an in-store bike ride, which was 30 miles per person. We raised a total of £1,600 which will go towards the pupils completing their Duke of Edinburgh award. Our team were overjoyed by the result and we got to meet the children and visit the Autistic unit when we went to present the cheque. We are immensely proud to have raised the exact amount that the school needed. In addition, we were recently informed that the Hays Travel Foundation has matched this and will be donating another £1,600 to the Autistic Centre.
