Full itinerary

Day 1: Arrive Reykjavík & Northern Lights Cruise
On arrival, you will be transferred from the airport to your hotel in Reykjavík, where you will be based for the next four nights, with breakfast included. You will have time to settle in at the hotel before being picked up in the evening for your Northern Lights Cruise. Leave the bright lights of Reykjavík behind and cruise out into Faxaflói Bay in search of the mystical phenomenon known as the Aurora Borealis or the Northern Lights. The boat has an open-top viewing deck, as well as an indoor heated lounge and an experienced guide is on hand to answer any questions you may have.
Please note that we do not guarantee seeing the Northern Lights, they are a natural phenomenon completely out of our control. We promise you we will try our best though, with experienced guides and good weather forecasts. In case the tour tonight gets cancelled or you go out and don’t successfully see the Northern Lights, we will be delighted to welcome you again on your next evening for free.

Day 2: The Golden Circle & Secret Lagoon
Today you will explore the famous Golden Circle. First, visit Þingvellir National Park to walk in the footsteps of the Vikings. You’ll then travel to the famous Strokkur Geyser and feel the ground tremble beneath your feet as steaming hot water spouts towards the sky every few minutes. Next, visit the dramatic Gullfoss Waterfall, before heading to the geothermal pools at the Secret Lagoon for some relaxation time.

Day 3: The Lava Tunnel & Reykjavík Food Walk
This morning, you will be picked up from your hotel and taken to the Raufarhólshellir lava tunnel, roughly 30 minutes outside of Reykjavík. This is an extremely unique experience where you can witness the inner workings of a volcanic eruption and walk in the path of lava that flowed during the Leitahraun eruption around 5,200 years ago. After some time at the lava tunnel, you will be taken back to your hotel, before joining a food tour of Reykjavík in the evening. Walk from your hotel to the meeting point to meet your guide and the rest of the group, then take a leisurely stroll around the city, visiting six local family-run restaurants to sample a selection of delicious, traditional cuisines.

Day 4: South Coast & Glacier Hike
Your final full day in Iceland is action-packed as you explore the south coast. First, visit the rugged Sólheimajökull Glacier and wear special crampons over your shoes to explore the intriguing cracks and crevasses of the glacier by foot. Next, visit the stunning Seljalandsfoss Waterfall, one of Iceland’s most famous attractions. You’ll also visit the impressive Skógafoss Waterfall. Get up close and feel the water spray on your face then climb further up the hill to view the mighty falls from above.

Day 5: Depart Reykjavík
Today you will check out of the hotel and be transferred to the airport for your flight back to the UK.
