Mrs Gale, 13 April 2015

Good quality hotel, hotel is 20 years old so some furniture a bit tatty, gorgeous marble and nice details in the structure of the building, food standard all inclusive always fish and meat and plenty of vegetables and potatoes to choose from. The waiters at the dinner table allocated us a table to use for the whole of our stay so they got to know us well, they displayed flowers and decorated napkins in the shape of swans to get a tip, they were quick to serve drinks at the dinner table too, breakfast was good, always a omelette or pancake server available and plenty of potatoes, tomatoes, cereals and tea/coffee and yoghurt. Drinks for all inclusive were served in half pint glasses and small glasses for soft drinks but waiters were good and generally quick to serve, friendly too, they expect a tip and 1 pound coins made a fab tip which made staff go all out to help you, if you want a better holiday the trick is to tip without doubt, ask for the all inclusive menu for the drinks and cocktails, if you don't ask you won't know what's available, basically vodka, gin, whisky in plentiful supply, beds made everyday, maids even did a fancy display on the bedding on the night before we left, safe free to use in your room, tv with a couple of English channels, plenty of hot water for showers. We did go pre season so outdoor pool not available, too cold, indoor pool was lovely and heated though, gym and massage available at a charge, henna tattoos and small jewellery and snack shop inside hotel foyer along with a handbag/shoe shop. You must be prepared to haggle for the best price our pounds go a long way in tunisia. You can't buy exit stamp for customs from hotel but can get from the Sahara beach Hotel (100 yards down the beach) or post office in Sousse to avoid queues in airport, which was very busy, queues everywhere. There were trips organised with the hotel to frigui Safari park and Zulu dance. It was 95 dina /30 quid, four courses, unlimited wine and soft drinks the show was drumming and lots of it, zoo was mediocre but bargain camel ride 7 minutes for 3 dina/1 pound, you could feed a giraffe for 10 dina. We also went to the colosseum (awesome) and Roman museum and into town but be prepared for major hassle off shop keepers you have to be really forceful and say no if you do not want to buy anything. We did quad biking too booked through hotel, really good 1 1/2 hours through olive trees and countryside perfectly safe, best 25 quid we spent. Be prepared for sellers offering horse riding on the beach and water skiing. Animation team at hotel Great too, something on offer all day, bingo and party games on a night. And kids disco, great holiday.
