This family-friendly hotel is tailor-made for relaxing round a sun-soaked pool, cold drink in hand. Globus Hotel sits right on the coast, so it's perfect for a day dipping in and out of the shimmering Black Sea. Not only have you got a choice of buffet and a la carte dining here, but there's also lobby and poolside bars to make sure you never go without during your stay. The hotel can even boast of having its very own bowling lanes ready for you to compete and enjoy.

Bulgaria is a fast-rising star on the European-holiday flag and puts excellent effort into welcoming its tourists. Sunny Beach is buzzing with bars, shops, cafes and clubs making it lively enough for night owls, but perfect for family day-trips too.

Central location and fantastic facilities are the two essentials on most holiday-maker's list. And Globus Hotel puts a big tick in both boxes.

The hotel also has several restaurants, including one with a la carte dining. There's an indoor swimming pool with a bar, and an outdoor pool with a children's section and sunbeds to top up the tan during the day. You can also use the gym, spa and games room here, as well as play billiards and table tennis. Why not have a bowling competition using the hotel's two bowling lanes? Another fun feature of Globus Hotel.

The 24-hour reception offers a safe and room service for an additional charge.

Each room here has a welcoming feel and modern dcor. There's a minibar, phone, television, hair dryer and air-conditioning, although the spectacular views from your balcony mustn't be missed.

Cheap and cheerful
I visited Hotel Globus in September 2014. This hotel is in a fantastic location only 50 metres from the beach. Rooms were very big and I had a large balcony with a sea-view, which was lovely to wake up to.

The hotel is in two blocks. I was in one that was opposite a nightclub, which did get a bit loud in the evening. However, the hotel is clean and modern.

You can do day and overnight excursions, even to Istanbul, or there's a water park at the back of the resort, which was very easy to reach. You can also catch a boat from the pier that's only a three or five-minute walk away and visit a lovely, traditional fishing village called Nesebar. This is approximately 12 Lev (£5) for a return fare.

If you're a beach lover and want to spend a lot of time on the sand, then you'll have to pay for the sunbeds and a parasol (if you need some shade). This costs around £8 for two sunbeds and a parasol all day, but there's also plenty of water sports going on.

There were many restaurants here and one of my favourites was Bistro Billy's. It does two giant steak and chips including drinks for just £8 per person! Another recommendation would be a place called 'Arena', which again did similar food and was so cheap.

The entertainment was good and included things like karaoke and live singers. If you like watching sports, then head to the Funny Pub, great for catching the matches. You can also grab food and drinks from here.

Prices are unbelievably low in Bulgaria. A pint of beer started at 40p and cocktails were always 'buy one get one free' (£4.00). In the summer, some of the bars and nightclubs will get very busy once the young and lively crowd moves in, but there are plenty of quieter bars for families and couples.

of our customers rated this property good or excellent.

Mr Crabbe, 24 September 2017

The shower and cubicle needed attention. Water dripped through ceiling in the room this was attended to after reporting to reception. We were told there were no rooms to move us however there was only 1 restaurant open for the full week(why if the hotel was full)breakfast okay evening meal average.

Mr Gordon, 09 September 2017

good location in centre of everything food is a disappointment would only go room only if they did allow

Mr Hillerby, 21 August 2017

Grout in shower was mouldy. Bed linen wasn't as clean as it should hav been. Plates at breakfast were dirty. Table cloths were stained. Most mornings there was a shortage of cutlery at breakfast. I would never stay at the globus hotel again.

Mr Newcombe, 02 October 2016

Hotel good food poor

Mr Hannah, 25 September 2016

Hotel good not enough sun beds for size of hotel
Restaurant very poor needs updating
Plates and dishes all had chips in them not very clean

Mrs Gill, 22 September 2016

the Globus Hotel was spotlessly clean, the breakfast has a good selection, the first few days could not get a seat in the dinner room but they did put extra tables out by day 3 . The pool area needs attention as there are insufficient sunbeds and people are allowed to leave towels on them all day, we were never able to get a sunbed. At 6 am they had towels over them. They have space for at least another 40 sunbeds. You have a charge for wifi on a daily rate, but if you visit the bar at the front or the back of the hotel you can access their wifi whilst in your room. On the whole this hotel is well worth the money paid it is central to all activity and the staff were friendly enough.

Mrs Nadin, 04 September 2016

Generally good. Would have been nice to of had a separate room in the apartment like the photos. Food was good, hotel clean and perfectly working air con!
