Fantastic clean lovely food great staff

Mr Pritchard, 03 December 2017

Very clean and excellent position. Decor little dated. Closing after we left for refit.

Mrs Hanson, 27 November 2017

Staff friendly, breakfast provided reasonable choice of cereals, cooked and continental type of breakfasts with unlimited tea, coffee and fruit juices.
The room was a standard twin bedded room and the beds were comfortable. Unfortunately the air conditioning unit only blew warm air but this didn't bother us too much as we were on the 5th floor with a lovely view from the balcony so left the balcony door open throughout the night to keep the room cool.
A bathroom door hinge bolt fell out of one of the hinges which we left at the side so that it was visible to the room servicing staff, it took 3 days for someone just to try and 'shove' it back in place. Additionally sometimes after flushing the toilet the cistern didn't automatically refill, but this didn't bother us too much as we just lifted the lid and corrected the problem.
We didn't use the pool/facilities as the November weather wasn't good enough for this, but it did look clean.
For a week's break the hotel served its purpose to provide a base to get out and about to explore the lovely island of Malta.

Super ***

Mr Carlisle, 09 August 2017

The hotel offered all the facilities we required and was in an excellent location with fantastic sea views and good accommodation. Service and breakfast was very good. The daytime lady receptionist was extremely helpful and friendly.

Mrs Pegden, 11 July 2017

Great access for busses. Breakfast ok. Very poor pool size. poor sunbed quality

Miss Rowlands, 28 May 2017

Hotel was tired looking, old fashioned and cleanliness was an issue. Mattress spring worked its way through the cover on my first night and scratched my hip. Hotel reacted promptly and changed mattress but didn't seem too concerned.

Mr Lewis, 24 April 2017

In a good position - on bus route & near to shops & restaurants etc. Very friendly, helpful staff. Some of the rooms could do with a refurb but clean & tidy

Mr Robertson, 23 September 2016

2 to 3Stars at best .Breakfast food lukewarm.Furniture in Reception worn and torn. The only saving grace is its position on the harbour.outstanding but that is about all that it has going for it.

Mrs Graham, 14 June 2016

Clean and friendly staff. Helpful reception.

Mr Field, 07 May 2016

------nice modest accomodation

Mrs Dean, 02 May 2016

good situation - only problem we were at the front of the building which meant we got a lot of road traffic noise.

Mr Holmes, 14 April 2016

Good

Mrs Carter, 01 April 2016

Ok but no tea or coffee making facilities

Mrs Barnes, 29 March 2016

The hotel was comfortable & had a lovely atmosphere with beautiful views over the harbour & St Pauls island, It was very well placed for us away from the hustle & bustle but within easy reach of restaurants & bus station from which you could travel all over the island.
The staff were all very helpful & friendly , they organised various trips for us which picked us up from the hotel.
Breakfasts were very good with plenty of choice. The evening meals we had were 4 courses & very good value for the price we paid.( 14 to 16 Euros).
Would definitely return to this hotel .

Mrs Riani-carter, 17 November 2015

Mrs Mcmullen, 16 November 2015

Mr Sutton, 21 July 2015

We had a great holiday at The Gillieru Hotel, its a lovely hotel with nice polite and helpful staff.
There were a few minor issues as they asked us to change from half board to BB as we we the only 3 people doing half board - and promised us a re-embursment on our return to Newcastle which iam in process of doing now ! The contact person is Mary Rose at The Gillieru Reception

Mrs Whetham, 21 June 2015

No way is this a 4 Star quality hotel. Nice room with sea view but everything past its sell-by date! Food well below expectations and restaurant staff could have been friendlier
