Full itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Cochin
Welcome to Kerala, known locally as 'God's Own Country' due to the stunning, natural beauty of this southern Indian state. Our representative will meet you at the airport and will transfer you to the 5* Trident Hotel Cochin for your 2-night stay. Dinner at the hotel is included tonight, subject to arrival time.

Day 2: Cochin
Rise early this morning for an experiential Yoga session, a staple of Indian culture. It is not only a way to keep oneself healthy and fit, but more of a way of life. This session covers Asana, Dhyana, and Pranayama, in a lush green garden setting at the Trident Cochin.
After breakfast, explore Cochin on a half-day city tour. Visit the Dutch Palace (closed on Fridays), which has some of India’s most beautiful murals, and the Jewish Synagogue (closed on Fridays & Saturdays) in the heart of Jew Town. See St. Francis Church (closed on Sundays) where Vasco da Gama was originally buried and the Santa Cruz Church with its pastel-coloured interior and carved wooden panels.
In the late afternoon, enjoy a performance of Kathakali, a pantomime-like dance-drama. It is a combination of facial expressions and body movements, which brings out the thought and emotions of the character. Dinner is included tonight.
Other Optional Experiences in Cochin (at additional expense)
Cafe Crawl – Food Tour
Kochi by bicycle
A Cooking demo followed by lunch or dinner

Day 3: Cochin - Munnar
Today after breakfast, drive to Munnar (approx. 4 hours). On arrival, check in to the 4* Tall Trees Resort. Enjoy some time at leisure until your evening town market walk.
A visit to Munnar will be incomplete without stopping by at the local market. Here you can find a variety of gifts and souvenirs to take back home. There are a variety of teas and coffees, spices (pepper, cloves, cinnamon, and cardamom), wooden artefacts, handicrafts, fabrics, aromatic essential oils, homemade chocolates, and much more. The market is especially great for gift items that are specific to this region.

Day 4: Munnar
After breakfast, enjoy a sightseeing tour of Munnar's stunning countryside including the Tata Tea factory and museum.
Tata Tea Museum is the first of its kind in India and aims to showcase the growth of more-than-a-century-old tea plantations in this region. Visitors will get a clear picture of how laborious this tea processing is. A section of the Tea Museum also houses classic bungalow furniture, typewriters, wooden bathtub, magneto phone, iron oven, manual calculators, and EPABX of the 1909 telephone system.

Day 5: Munnar - Thekkady
After breakfast, drive from Munnar to Thekkady (approx. 3.5 hours) and check in to 4* Cardamom County Resort. In the evening, enjoy a Kalaripayattu Show, a Keralan martial art, in Thekkady. Kalaripayattu - the oldest martial art - is a gift to the modern world and is known as the mother of all martial arts. Legend traces the 3000-year-old art form to Sage Parasurama-the master of all martial art forms and credited to be the re-claimer of Kerala from the Arabian Sea.

Day 6: Thekkady
Rise early this morning for an experiential Yoga session. Later after breakfast, enjoy a boat ride at Periyar Lake on a shared basis followed in the afternoon by a Spice Plantation tour. One of the best ways to explore the Periyar Tiger Reserve is by taking a boat ride through the Periyar Lake. It offers travellers the opportunity to view the natural beauty of the forest with its tall trees and resident wildlife. The duration of the boat ride is one and a half hours. The lake is surrounded by a thick dense tree line on either shore. These trees are home to some of the resident avian species that are unique to the Periyar Tiger Reserve.
Other Optional Experiences in Thekkady (at additional expense)
Periyar Bouquet Cycle Tour
Valley Zest Cycling followed by Lunch
Manjapally Plantation Bungalow & Cooking Demo

Day 7: Thekkady - Alleppey
Today after breakfast you will drive to Alleppey (approx. 4 hours) to board your houseboat for an overnight stay.
Dubbed the ‘Venice of the East’, Alleppey is renowned for its houseboat cruises that float along Kerala's tranquil backwater canals. It is said to be one of the most popular tourist centres in the state. While cruising the palm-shaded canals is the main attraction, visitors can also enjoy visiting Alappuzha’s beautiful beaches, exploring the little riverside villages dotting the lush countryside, and discovering an array of resplendent temples. Don’t miss the annual Nehru Trophy Boat Race held at Punnamada Lake.
Explore Kerala's beautiful, palm-fringed, backwater canals and watch local life and colour as you float languidly along on your luxurious Lakes & Lagoons houseboat. A traditional boat made from bamboo, logs & coconut fibres; featuring fully furnished bedrooms, sundeck, and private balconies. Lunch and dinner are included today.
Other Optional Experiences in Alleppey (at additional expense)
Alleppey Magic Cycle Tour

Day 8: Alleppey - Cochin
Today after breakfast, you will leave the houseboat and catch your transfer back to your hotel, 5* Port Muziris Hotel Cochin (approx. 4 hours). On route, you will be taken to visit the Preserve Alleppey Society and enjoy lunch.
Today’s experience starts with a presentation about the unique features and history of Alleppey. This is followed by the tour which is partly by vehicle and partly walking. It covers the Gujarati quarter, canal sidewalk to view a Jain temple from the outside, visiting the first Anglican Church in erstwhile Travancore state, seeing a cooperative coir factory where the original methods of weaving continue, and a drive through the Main Street of the town.

Day 9: Depart Cochin
After breakfast, transfer to Cochin airport in time for your departure flight back to the UK.
